My doc just prescribed me Provera after I did not get a full period following my 2nd IUI. I have never taken it before since my cycles are very regular and I googled it and I am scared of some of the horror stories I have found. I was wondering what some of your experiences were with it? I am thinking why not just wait until I get another period on my own since it will take a fews weeks to get one with the Provera anyway? I am so confused..I probably just need to call my Dr. back and ask him but I am finding he is confusing me more..today he was saying I could have had a early miscarriage or be pregnant and that he would not know until my bloodwork came back. Well the nurse just called me and just told me to take the Provera...no explaination nothing...so I am still clueless as to what happened!!!!

I have better luck with Prometrium. ?Fewer side effects than Provera. ?Provera makes me really emotional, tired, achey and bloated.
My period usually arrives 2-3 days after the last pill is finished.?
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
I take Provera often and have never had any trouble with it. I take the 10 mg dosage for 10 days. AF usually shows 2-3 days afterwards and lasts for about a week.
But if your doctor thought that you could be pregnant, you may want to go ahead and test just to be certain.
PMS in pill form!!!!!!!!! DH wanted to move to the shed while I was on it. Witchy, b*tchy, cranky, crying, bloating, moody, crampy, depressed---all PMS symptoms...I would say from 3rd pill until AF was over. But on the other hand, I got AF 3 days after last pill. I have taken it a few times and the last time in December (around Christmas) was extremely rough, didn't help that SIL announced she was preggers then!
I would take it again if need to, I will set up a bed and TV in the shed for DH and the pup. Hey at least it has electricity and two windows.
I once had a picture until the trolls showed up.

Hi Lola,
I've had to take Provera several times and I don't get negative side effects. I just take it for 7 days straight and usually 3 days later I get AF. I asked the nurse practitioner who prescried it what are the side effects and negative effects on my body and she said it's basically progesterone and is safe for your body. She tells me to take a HPT before I start Provera just to be sure I'm not pregnant (which I already know from charting). I haven't had any problems. If you know you aren't pregnant I think it's safe to take. Hopefully you wont experience the side effects that some women do.
Good luck!

I've been lucky so far. No real awful side effects. I got bloated, but that's it. I also get AF 2-3 days after my last pill. Good luck!
