Do you wait until the end of the day to clean up all of DCs

toys?  For the longest time I would follow him around cleaning up after him or clean up while he was napping.  Of course then he wakes up and takes everything back out again.  For the last few days I just wait until evening and put them all away then.  Of course I try to involve him as much as I can in the cleaning but for an almost 2 year old the assistance is minimal!!

  • No, its usually in the living room and it would drive us nuts. We pick up 68,000 times a day.

  • We try to clean as we go.  That way it doesn't make me crazy, and it (I like to tell myself anyway) teaches her to clean up after herself - don't get out something new until you put away what you have.
  • At 5 we do a big clean up.  That way, DH comes home to a sane house and the house stays pretty clean until the next morning.

  • I have him put something away before he can get something new out to play.  If he is playing with his hot wheels and decides he wants to do a puzzle, he has to put all his cars away before he can get his puzzles out.  It usually works out well.

  • Yup.  I need to get back into the routine, but we used to clean from 4-5 (with the girls helping me).  I do try to throw things back in the playroom that migrate throughout the day, but if we clean up from 4-5, then they can watch a show at 5.  We have dinner at 5:30 and then it's baths, books, board game for DD#1 and bed.  At least then it stays relatively clean until morning...usually.  I just can't keep cleaning up.  Whatever I start to put away is what the girls decide to play with.  It's not worth it.
  • Right now, we pick up all the time. And actually Colin is 3 and usually picks everything up himself unless we played together, then I help. I have a feeling with the new playroom I am going to get mighty lazy
  • We usually clean up before dinner w/ the boys helping (really just Kaleb right now). It stay pretty good till the next morning.
