3rd Trimester

2nd time moms?

Are you getting a side by side stroller or one of those stand/sit models?  I am trying to decide.

Re: 2nd time moms?

  • I got the Quattro Tour Deluxe.  It holds our infant seat, I got a good deal on a fabric I'm not crazy about at albeebaby, and my DD is way too little for a sit n stand.

  • I'm going to let DD#1 walk or put DD#2 in a sling. If I feel I need one later, I'll look into a sit and stand.

    How old is your #1?

  • I am not sure yet.  I think I am going to wait until after she is born and see where DD #1 is at.  I'll use the sling for #2 and the stroller for #1 until I decide.

Sorry that I am not much help.

Same here.  Those side-by-side strollers are a monstrosity to get through store aisles and such--I would get a front-to-back double stroller or a sit and stand if needed, but never a side-by-side.  I hate those things!

  • I had side by side and the insanely long double Jeep strollers, but I had to break down and buy the sit and stand. They are by far better. You can actually turn them!! My kids were 2 years apart. They both think they will still get to sit when baby #3 comes..good luck! Single stroller for me. (they are 4 and 6...)
  • DD is 2 years and 3 months.  I am worried with the sit and stand that she will wiggle out and run around.  Right now she will use her stroller but she tries to escape.

  • I have both my boys are only 16 months apart so we used the side by side for a little while but as kids grow so does their independence lol so we decided to get the stand/sit kind and it worked out really well for us.  Two thoughts though: first if your babies are close the side/side is great for outdoors :)  It is hell in the mall or anywhere with slightly narrow isles and especially if you encounter another stroller :)   The stand/sit is great if your child listens, but if they are super independent and constantly want to walk and run away - not so much.   It's nicer to strap them in side/side . . .  Both are good for different situations I'm just thinking about what to do wit the third lol Ahhhhhh!   Hope I helped
  • I just bought the Kolcraft Contours Tandem stroller for my two.  It will fit ANY carseat (so the one from my original travel system will work) and I can adjust the seats to face any direction.  I will how I can lock them both in and it's so versitile.  We've tried out around the house and it seems to steer very well....much better than my travel system.  I would definitely check this one out!  I found mine online at Wal-Mart for $198.  I know you can also find them at Target and TRU/BRU online.

  • Both. I have a Baby Trend side by side for when DS gets a little older and a DuoGlider for now that I can snap the carrier in.
  • I'm also going to get the Quattro Tour Duo. I have the single Quattro Tour and love it. My son will be too small to walk everywhere or stand. Plus, we will be using the same car seat my son used so it will fit the new stroller. I feel that the side by side strollers would be too hard to maneuver in a lot of stores.

  • I'm getting this:  UppaBaby Vista with Rumble Seat

ETA:  my girls will be 16 1/2 months apart

  • We got the Graco Duo Glider.  My son still likes the stroller and I have heard some side by sides are hard to fit through doors.
  • I heard the side-by-sides are great until you have to get through doorways and store aisles with them.

I bought a regular Sit N Stand from someone on our inter-office classifieds. I really wanted the Sit N Stand Double Stroller (with the two forward facing seats), but I couldn't pass up the deal I got. I think the one I got will be good, though, because DD is wanting more and more to walk (rather than ride) when we go out, so we'll just have a basic place for her to sit if she needs to.

  • I think I've fallen in love with the sit and satnd kinds.  I'm looking into getting one of those.
  • Joovy Ultralight Sit and Stand. Going to pick it up tomorrow.?
  • I have decided after much debate to get the bumbleride indie twin which is much more than I EVER thought I'd pay for a stroller (around $600) This gets GREAT reviews (fits through doorways, maneuvers easily, etc).  It's the only baby thing we need so I am justifying. I used our travel system so much with my first son that I really wanted something that could be side by side and hold an infant seat.
