How did you attach lanterns/mobiles to ceiling?

I'm trying to figure out the best way to hang some paper lanterns from the ceiling. I want something that is unobtrusive and won't require a lot of patch work and painting when they are taken down. Any suggestions? What did you use and would you recommend it?

i was thinking of using the 3M hooks with removable sticky strips, but even the smallest ones would be really obvious i think.

An eye hook will work much better. It wil make a hole about the size of a small nail. HTH.

We used an eye hookd then attached fishing wire to hang them. It was pretty easy to do.

ok, good. i was thinking that as well, but i thought the hole would be bigger. but now that i think about it, i have some tiny eye hooks around here already that would probably be perfect. thanks!
