So being due mid-late April puts me at a disadvantage with clothes... it will be too warm (probably) for the bulky mat sweaters I've been wearing all winter, yet I'll probably still be too big for my normal clothes- at least for a month or two or longer (and by big, I mean I know my belly will not be flat enough for the tight t shirts i have). So do I buy some mat tshirts now in preparation for that time? I don't necessarily want to buy non-mat clothes in a larger size- that seems like a waste to me since i am planning on getting pregnant again at some point so the mat clothes will get worn again. Suggestions?
Re: Maternity Clothes post partum?
you will not want to wear mat. clothes, so I'd suggest buying some cheap loose t-shirts and loose shorts/pants but not maternity ones
you can buy nursing tops if you intend to nurse but I never liked them
if you figure you'll be pregnant again anyway, you'll probably still be able to use the bigger clothes again as well - either in 1st tri or pp after the next baby.
obviously, i don't speak from experience! i do plan on wearing a few of the maternity clothes i've bought pp. we'll see. In a clothes post from last week, someone mentioned being so sick of maternity clothes that she got rid of everything immediately.
Even though I'm a hair's breath from my pre-preg weight, it's all in different places. None of my tops fit, and those that do are too short. My slacks fit, but I wear a larger size in jeans. I have been slowly buying a new wardrobe that fits my new body better, although I realize my boobs will probably go back to normal when I stop BFing.
I wore my mat jeans for a couple months b/c I was stubborn about buying new jeans.
DS was born at the end of April. I did have to buy some t-shirts, but that was because it got warm before he was born. I was really, really annoyed to be buying clothes 2-3 weeks before he would arrive! But, they came in handy for the early PP period. I actually bought non-maternity shirts, because I was tired of wearing maternity clothes, and I figured that I would wear them for a while after DS was born.
I wore nursing bras, nursing tanks, and t-shirts most days. I ended up having to buy more shirts later on, because my BBs were huge due to BFing. All of my old t-shirts didn't fit correctly.
