Breech Baby Question

Sorry to post and run, I can?t bump at work!

Do any of you ladies with breech babies have really intense pelvic discomfort?  It literally feels like she?s lodged in my pelvis.  I can still feel her head on my right hand side under my ribs but she?s not as high up as she was ? could she have engaged her butt in my pelvis?

Sorry for the TMI but it really feels like she?s got a foot in my a$$ from the inside.  I can?t lean forward too well & walking is uncomfortable.  My midwife won?t even discuss the baby being breech with me until 36wks ? she?s pretty much useless.

I also have SPD.  How much fun do you think I?m having right now?

Re: Breech Baby Question

  • I don't have personal experience with a breech baby (or that I know of yet), but from my knowledge as a nurse, what you are saying about pelvic discomfort caused from her butt in your pelvis makes sense.

I am sorry that you are in a lot of pain, and I can't really help.  I am even more sorry that your midwife is no help.  If you are in pain, she should talk to you about it.

  • My little one is breech and I feel the same way. I've read a lot of about it and it sounds like she def. could be her little bum. I've got an u/s on Tuesday and I'm hoping for more insight on all my pain. I can hardly walk.

  • YES!!!! I'm so glad to see another person post feeling the same way I do. My little guy is breech and I also have SPD as well as an irritable uterus. I truly have never been so uncomfortable in all my life including when I gave birth without pain meds to my 2nd daughter who was breech! I can walk for maybe about 10 minutes before it is just so painful I can hardly move. I kind of suspected that my pain could be from the fact that he is breech, but it's nice to hear someone else feeling the same thing so I know I'm not crazy. I don't really have any wise words of advice -- I pretty much have just suffered with it (and am so glad that it will end on Monday when I go in for scheduled C-section). I don't know how far along you are, but you can check out spinningbabies.org to find some positions you can try to encourage your LO to move to the head down position. Also, yesterday my doctor mentioned getting on all fours and shake my butt in the air to encourage him to move to the right position. Good Luck to you!
