NTR: DH's mom has become too involved...

in our house hunt.  She's a realtor in Florida, so she's taken it upon herself to find us the *perfect* house in Houston.  This is one she wants me to "go take a look at."  I know this is probably someone's dream home, but it's not for us!  She is so far off from what DH and I are looking for, and she doesn't hear it when we try to tell her! 

We have a rocky relationship, but I feel like her heart is in the right place with all of this - that she's genuinely trying to help.  I'm not trying to make it an issue, but I've made it clear to DH that this is our decision and we are the ones who are going to have to live in the house, so we've got to find something we're happy with.

    Why is the whole house carpeted in the same ugly blue?  I can't believe what you get for the money there, though.  Maybe we should move to Houston.

    Lol, tell me about it.  We came to Houston after living in a 650 sq ft condo in San Diego for four years!

    And I totally agree with you on the ugly blue carpet.  The whole house makes me shudder.

    wow we are living in the wrong market!  Our house is half that size and much older but 20K more!

    I could handle texas... GO HORNS!

    NMS either, but holy carp is that a lot of house for the $$! That wouldn't even buy you a 700sq ft 1br coop in my neighborhood!

    Could you send MIL some links to houses that are you style and point out to her what you like about them, so she can get a general idea of what you do like?   Moms and MILs need projects, and if she's a realtor, she may actually be able to help!

    Holy shiiit.....that place is HUGE!  It's NMS either, but I really wouldn't want to have to clean that place.  Too much space to have to clean!
