Anyone's DC not drink milk at all? including nursing/formula?

We are going through a drink strike still.  Just wondering if anyone else has a little one who doesn't drink milk.  Hopefully we get over it.  Thanks.

  • They need milk of some kind for normal development. You can try giving soy milk or enriched rice milk until the strike is over, since vanilla flavored soy/rice milk doesn't taste like regular milk. GL.

  • I'll try it.  I figured I wouldn't get any responses.  We went to the doctor today to make sure she wasn't dehydrated.  Just need some suggestions.  I've tried different sippy cups, bottle, leaving the cups out in the living room...  Dr. wasn't too worried, but just wondering if anyone else had gone through something similar.  Thanks!

  • DD just turned one and we switched from formula to milk.  She refused to drink for a week and a half, but then I figured out to mix it with a little YoBaby liquid yogurt in the sippy cup.  She's wolfed it down the last two days!
  • Ditto on the mixing yogurt w/ the milk.  That's how we got DD started with milk and we're now able to get her to drink milk by itself.  She is still nursing, but only mornings/evenings.  Also, our pedi suggested really pushing other forms of protein/calcium when she was refusing milk ... yogurt, cheese, cottage cheese, etc.  GL!

  • My daughter absolutely hates milk.  Won't touch it.  (We've been trying it for 3 months now, mixing with formula in tiny amounts, etc.)  I am, however, able to mix it in with her eggs, so that is good, and she eats yogurt.  Hates cheese, though.  So, we're sticking with the "next step" formula.  It smells vile to me, but she'll drink it.
