When did you go to the hospital?
Were you allowed to walk around?
When did your contractions pick up?
Just curious. I went straight to the hospital as per OB's instructions (I showered first). I was told not to walk around too much due to the risk of cord prolapse, and my contractions didn't really pick up until 10 hours later, after being on pitocin for 5 hours.
Re: If your water broke first...
We went got the the hospital about 2 hours later. We probably could have waited longer, by they wanted me to come in as soon as possible since there was a snowstorm (as a just in case).
I was able to walk around after they did their tests, etc.
My contractions started about an hour or so after my water broke. They stayed an even two minutes apart until I got the epidural, but they began to get really painful about 3 or 4 hours after they started.
We were out the door about 30 minutes later. I showered first, then we headed out.
No. Once I was admitted, I had to stay in bed.
I was put on pitocin because my contractions were not picking up!

2:00 pm water broke, called OB he asked if I had contractions yet I said very light he said when they get stronger head over to the hospital since I live about 10 minutes away.
6:30 pm contractions started to get strong, we went to the hospital.
They hooked me up to a monitor for an hour and did an u/s to check fluid level. Then I was free to walk around as much as I wanted to.
11:00 pm contractions were too severe to even walk.
12:30 am doctor checked me and was only 1/2 cent dialated! He said I will give you pain medicine and sleeping pill because you need your rest, you are not having this kid tonight!
4:18 pm next day finally had DS!
When did you go to the hospital? My water broke at 4:45 a.m. and we were at the hospital by 6, I believe - maybe 5:45. I was instructed not to shower first, but that was OK since I'd shaved and taken care of business the night before. Thankfully.
Were you allowed to walk around? No, after I checked in and was taken to my room, I was basically there until I had Anna. I didn't get up to walk out of the room once. I only left the bed to use the bathroom (poop).
When did your contractions pick up? My contractions actually started almost immediately. While I was checking in the hospital I started having contrax and they got progressively worse as the day progressed. I went fairly quickly.

While in hospital nobody told me to stay in bed (but I did as I laboured unmedicated) and I was offered the tub, the shower, the ball - anything I wanted. This was my experience with my first born.
This sounds pretty much like my experience only I was started on pitocin right away and wasn't allowed to walk. Got the epidural after 8 hours of pit. when the contractions finally became so bad I would break my breathing and start panicking in the middle of them.?
We went right away - it took me by surprise as I was just over 36 weeks pg so I wanted to get checkout out ASAP & make sure DS was doing ok
We walked around forever
My contractions didn't really pick up until I had been on pitocin for about 2 hours (this was about 22 hours after my water actually broke - we tried forever to get my labor into a good pattern without pit but it just didn't happen)
