Not in that position yet but if I was, I would try for a VBAC if the Dr felt I was a candidate. My first delivery was vag but this one is looking more and more like it may have to be a section (breech and low fluid). Hopefully next time I can have the VBAC,
I decided to go VBAC. I was induced the first time and my body didn't take to the whole process and I wanted to try an alternative route. Although my final objective is to get the baby out quickly and safely I'd like to experience a vaginal child birth.
I am 100% going for a VBAC unless for some reason she is breech. I had a bad recovery with my c-section and I do not want to go through that again. Also I really feel like I missed out not having a vaginal delivery and I want to at least try for it this time. However I am more open minded this time that a c-section can happen and if it does that is fine, as long as the baby and I are healthy that is all that matters. At my 28 week appt I am taking with the OB more about my VBAC plan so we will see what happens when delivery day comes!!
I secretly have this desire to go through all of the labor experience, including the pushing... but my OB has made it clear that V-BACS (while popular) are not always the best option. Basically, when something goes wrong it goes WAY wrong. The chance for uterine rupture is much higher - which puts baby, mom, and future fertility at risk.
Plus, the way that my OB put it... I've already been scarred in one place, why scar myself in another? Let's be honest, no matter how smoothe your labor goes, if you push out a baby, you're never the same down there.
We also want this to be our last child, so I decided that I would have the repeat c-section & a tubal ligation at one time. Recovery from my first c-section went very well, so it was a pretty easy choice for me.

Yeap.. same here. My doctor says that I can try for a VBAC but the risks increase since my first c/s was only a bit over a year ago.
I rather not risk it and just go the safe route.

Me too, esp. since they said I'm not a good candidate anyway for VBAC due to the reason I need the c in the first place. (Small opening, large head)
