The only Annalise I know pronounces hers like Anne Elise, so that's how I'd say it. I guess Anna-lease is closest, but I feel like there's still a (very!) tiny difference--something about the aspiration between the syllables, I think. Not leeze, at any rate.

You're right. There is a slight difference, and that's how I say it.. closer to Anne Elise, at any rate. I just didn't do a good job of making that clear in my original question, but thanks for pointing that out b/c that's definitely true.

Actually, Anneliese (traditional spelling) is most often pronounced:
"AH-neh-LEES" or "ah-ne-LEE-zuh".Anna-leeze.
Or that is how the Annaliese i know pronounces it. (Plus the french name Lise is pronounced Leeze).
