I went in for my first HCG draw. They were also testing for progesterone and clotting disorders. She just kept pulling vial after vial out of the container, I had to ask, "Are those all for me?" And they were, all 10 of them!
Then things became confusing because the tech. asked me if I was having any lupus symptoms. I guess one of the tests they were running was for lupus. I have no idea if that was somehow in conjunction with the clotting test. The doctor never mentioned lupus. It was odd. It may have been some sort of mix up. I could tell they were also testing for the 3 things I came for so I just let it go.
Re: They took 10 vials of blood!
That sucks. I can't remember how many vials they took from me for my initial pg work-up, but it seemed like a lot! I don't know anything about the lupus, but that may have been included in my RPL bloodwork way back when.
Btw, have I mentioned how excited I am to see you back here! Congrats again!
Thank you so much!!! I'm in a that weird stage where I'm having moments of being excited and then trying not to get carried away. I don't know if this is our time. I'm afraid to think it really could be. DH told me last night that he has a good feeling. I hope he's right!
And look at you at 27 weeks!! Congratulations. That's so wonderful.
The Lupus test is actually a clotting disorder--it's called Lupus Anticoagulant. It is not the same thing as lupus though. I hope the lab didn't screw up the test???
And wow! 10 vials is alot! Make sure you drink lots of water the rest of the day!
