Pregnant after a Loss

I think I have a cavity. :(

One of my teeth has been a little sensitive on and off over the past few weeks.  Well last night when I went to floss my teeth the floss kept shredding in between that sensitive tooth and the next one, and it seems like something must be cracked or chipped or something.  Now it hurts like a b!tch.  :(  I really don't want to have to go to the dentist and get a filling right now!   Whenever I have to have novocaine I get all shaky and jittery and feel sick....so I'm not really looking forward to that since I'm already on procardia for PTL and that makes my heart race too.  Zip it!  Guess I'll have to ask the OB about it.  Ugh...just one more thing to worry about.

  • That sucks.  Sorry for the bad dental luck.

  • That really sucks Stephanie! But I'm sure its better to get it taken care of now rather than when the bunnies arrive, as long as its ok with your OB.

  • Oh no!  I hope there's something they can do for you to either keep the pain down or to remove the cavity without causing you too much agony!

  • Ugh, I hope it's not a cavity!
  • I have the same reaction to novacaine, and there is something else they can give you to numb you that is not novacaine.  Be sure to ask.  I have my chart labeled no novacaine.
  • I flossed again this morning and a chunk of tooth or filling came out when I did that.  So...looks like I will definitely have to go to the dentist.  Boo!
  • Boo!  My heart races with regular novocaine too.  There is adrenaline added to most novocaine.  If you ask for it without adrenaline it should help you out.  It will take longer for the numbing to take affect but you'll feel better in the long run.

     Good luck!!!

  • yeah I feel ya. I tried to wait my tooth problem out too but finally went. I have a cracked tooth! They are going to wait until after the baby is born to give me my crown thank goodness. My OB did have guidelines for the dentist. I am so sorry you have to deal with that too! Let us know how it goes.
