3rd Trimester

Is All Of This "Normal"

I'm going to be checking my blood pressure this morning, because last night I woke to my heart was racing.  I havent been seeing spots but I do feel "weak in the knees" latley.  When my OB checked me last, I was still in the "baseline," but I don't want to be dumb if I'm feeling weird ya know?

IDK if this is just normal stuff.  Is it normal to feel tingles in your feet when your standing for short periods of time?  Is it normal to have a rapid heartbeat this late into your pregnancy?  I remember 1st Tri HBs and its similar, but my heart is beating faster.

Re: Is All Of This "Normal"

  • I feel twinges of amost anxiety where my heart races.  I also find it very confusing when I can feel the baby, hear my own heart (which my pulse feels out of control....sometimes my whole body feels like it beating), and if I am lying on DH, I can hear his too!  IT is kind of weird, but it comes and goes.

The weak in the knees, likely worth a call to the DR though...

  • I have heart complications, at times I feel like my heart is racing, and others it feels like it "drops" into my stomach, then I get a shortness of breath.

Im being monitored by all my doctors and everything Im feeling is normal - especially now with the added weight gain and blood flow.

The tingling feeling is lack of blood into your lower body, rest and keep your feet up.

Call your doctor and let him know how you feel.  Chances are you may need monitoring, or just some rest.

I am NOT on bed rest, but I also have a desk job which lets me keep my feet up and not move around too much - its the only reason Im allowed to keep working.

I get this too!  Freaks me out so I am glad it doesn't happen too often.

You know when you can hear your HB when you lie down on your pillow?  I woke up last night to it, and it sounded like I ran a mile!  The weak in the knees is that tingly sensation that I have when I'm standing getting ready for work, and I feel dizzy

My Dad used to be an EMT and I asked him about this, and he said before calling the OB, check your BP.  I just hope its just my nerves and anxiety causing me to feel like this and not my BP.  I just don't know if I'm the only one feeling these "sensations"

  • Just went to my birthing class on Monday night and they said racing heart and heart palpatations are normal in the third tri.  I don't know about the tingling in the feet though...
  • Honestly.. I hope it is because this happens to me all the time. My heart beats so fast I feel like it's going to beat out of chest. I can hear it beating and my pulse will be around 130ish if not higher. My feet and legs get all tingly when I stand for short period of times and when I stand for longer periods of time. I stay swollen but my blood pressure isn't too bad. It goes up and down. I don't guess my doctor is too worried about it quite yet.

I have a desk job, but it doesn't allow for me to keep my feet up since I'm typing a ton and doing paperwork.  Its not a job which I could put my feet on the desk either, because we have people coming in and out of our office.

I have MVP, which isn't terrible, but it makes me worry more about my heart than what I used to be.  Ya know?  What is your heart condition if you don't mind me asking?

I don't get the weak knees feeling, but I do still get racing heart from time to time.  My BP has always been ok, so it is so far just attributed to higher blood volume w/ pregnancy, etc.  Plus, the fact that I'm woefully out of shape and would from time to time get palpitations pre-preg is also a factor for me.

Hopefully you & your doc can check you over and ease your mind.
