1-For those who are EP how often/how many times do you pump a day?
2-How long is each pumping session?
3-How much do you get with each session?
4-When did your supply/amount you were able to pump increase (if it did)? I guess I am asking, have you always been able to pump a large amount during each session or did that increase over time. If so how long do you think it took to increase?
5-Do you feed only BM? If so How many oz per feeding on avg? and how often (every 2-3 hours etc...)?
?
Thanks a bunch!!!?

Re: EP-How often, how much, when....
1. when my LO was born it was every two hours around the clock. Now i am down to pumping three times a day
2. fifteen minutes
3. Now that my LO only drinks 30oz a day that is all i pump- i cut myself off from making more now because i will be weaning completely in two months. However at my maximum i was pumping well over 90oz a day.
4. After being very vigilent in the beginning- my body was used to pumping and the supply grew with the pumping every two to three hours. it will increase the more you pump.
5. yes- i have been lucky to only feed BM to my DD. When she was small she was drinking four oz bottles every three hours and many times more. At her highest intake- she was drinking around 45-50oz a day. She is now down to 30oz with three full meals of solids.
GL with pumping.
if you scroll down there is an EP check in- if you want to join. it's very supportive and a great place to ask ?'s/vent etc.
1. Like Stacy said, in the beginning it was every 2-3 hours, all day and night. Now at 7 months I'm down to 4 pumps / day.
2. I think I started out with 10-15 minutes. Now it's 25 minutes, but fewer sessions.
3. Depends on what time of day. I get about 40oz over a 24-hour period. 14 in the morning and 8-10 the other three times.
4. I don't go by what I pump at one time, but by what I pump in a day. My supply steadily increased until about 10 weeks.
5. I only feed BM. At this point Baby C takes no more than 5oz at a feeding. I offer him about 30oz a day but he doesn't usually drink more than 25. In the beginning he would take 1-2oz, roughly every 2 hours. I think he was up to 4oz by 3 months.

I didn't start EPing until about 6 weeks but at first I was pumping every 2-3 hrs for about 15 minutes and getting about 4-5 ounces each time.
I gradually went to every 3 hrs 7x's/day and was getting 36-40 ounces total. Two weeks ago I cut back to 6 pumps and now I'm at 5 pumps/day for 30 minutes approx and still getting the same amount of milk.
I'm also at my wits end with EPing and have been considering weaning altogether - that's partly the reason for cutting back. With each dropped pump I start to gain some more sanity back into my life.
I'm pretty sure I'm on the way to fully weaning here in a few weeks. We'll see.
1-For those who are EP how often/how many times do you pump a day? In the begining I tried to pump every 2-3 hours, or every time the baby needed to eat. I've now been pumping for 14 weeks, and I pump 4-5 times a day.
2-How long is each pumping session? around 15 min
3-How much do you get with each session? It depends...in my middle of the night and first of the morning pump I usually get around 30 ounces combined. Usually around 6-9 each pumping session after that.
4-When did your supply/amount you were able to pump increase (if it did)? I guess I am asking, have you always been able to pump a large amount during each session or did that increase over time. If so how long do you think it took to increase? I have kept a log of the times and amounts I have pumped, and it has gradually increased, and kept increasing until I started dropping pumps. Now I consistently make 45-50 ounces a day.
5-Do you feed only BM? If so How many oz per feeding on avg? and how often (every 2-3 hours etc...)? At the hospital I fed formula and in the first month fed some formula too. My baby doesn't mind it, and I occasionaly give it to her because I plan on having to supplement somewhere around 7 months. For the longest time my baby has gotten 3 ounces per feeding every 2-4 hours during the day and every 4-6 hours in the night.
1. I now pump 4 times a day. When I first started, I was pumping every 2 hours or so.
2. 15 minutes or so.
3. I get about 45-48 ounces per day
4. I've always been able to pump quite a bit - I didn't lose much of my supply as I slowly went down to 4 pumps a day. However, I do notice that I pump less when I don't drink enough water - FYI!
5. Yes, we only do BM. DS currently takes 5 ounces about every 3 hours during the day, as well as a feeding or two at night. DS eats about 35 ounces per day total. I first started EPing when DS was 3 days old, and we had to supplement with formula until he was about a week and half. DS has been on BM only since then.
