Ugh, do I have to? "MIL vent"

But not my MIL

My friend is getting married in June. I am a bridesmaid.

Her MIL has high-jacked the shower from all of us bridesmaids. She has decided to have it at her house, after we had already decided on a place. She has decided to invite the entire wedding guest list (why not just have the wedding then, right?). She has decided to have a "throne" for my friend to open presents on (the whole point of the Jack & Jill party was to avoid her being the center of attention). With it being at her house, we have pretty much no say as to what really goes on that day. Then she has the audacity to complain about finances...well hello, lady, we were supposed to do this, not you.

Tonight, I have to go to a meeting at her mom's, with all of the other girls and said MIL.

The other girls are going early to have a few glasses of wine before "she" gets there. I can't drink, so I have to do this sober...yuck.

She's such a PITA!!!

ETA: Yes, I would have stood up for us if I had been able to go to the first meeting where she did the "highjacking." Unfortunately, no one else stood up to tell her no, and now it's just too late for that.
