2nd Trimester

I hate what I'm wearing...

So, still not in maternity, but against my better judgement (and directly attributed to the fact that I was too lazy to do laundry last night) I wore a shirt that I haven't worn since pre-pregnancy. It's one of those wrap contraptions that ties around my waist (or what's left of it) and I feel like I look like a slob with a few fat rolls. Ugh...don't you hate those days, where you wish you could run home and change.

I'm considering stopping by Cato on my lunch break. It's the only clothing store in this shopping center, but if I get depserate enough, it will certainly do.

Um, yeah. The Bump be too crazy for pics of my kid.

  • I hate days like that.  They tend to happen a lot more frequently although I can't fit into pre-pregnancy clothes anymore but I am wearing too tight pants today and it is very uncomfortable.

  • One of those days, I guess. I discovered this morning that the maternity shirt I was wearing on days I didn't feel like showing off the baby bump has morphed somehow into a shirt that shows it off quite well- except that it shows an indentation where my belly button is (still an innie) and I just look chubby.

    Yay for crappy clothes days.

On the plus side, the clothes are clean- DH did laundry yesterday.. even though I had to go down into our laundry room (in the garage) in a bathrobe this morning because he forgot to take my clothes out of the dryer..

  • I do hate those days.   I am just now in maternity tops...   I was like that at 17 weeks too.   I called it my FAT stage.   I did not look pregnant...just fat with rolls to show!   Now you can tell... no way not too.

  • I had one of those mornings too, it took me half an hour of putting things on and taking them off before I found something acceptable... definitely need to do laundry tonight.

  • I feel like frump city since I got pg....nothing looks right on me and shhhhh....I have started skipping days between washing my hair! I just pull it back in a big clip on the dirty days....hahaha!

  • I didn't exactly love what I was wearing yesterday.  It is the absolute WORST feeling to be stuck in an outfit that makes you feel like crap~!  I really need to go shopping but I know I'm in a pinch because it would only be worth it to spend $$ on maternity clothes at this point, which won't fit  me anyway.  I hate my entire wardrobe, lol.

  • I totally understand.  Every day last week I came home from work thinking "I canNOT wear this anymore"  Not until after baby anyways.  It really started to affect my self esteem!

So, last weekend I spent all sorts of money and bought clothes to make me feel better.  I say - you can't put a price on feeling pretty :)

  • I feel the same way plus I have a horrible cold and feel about as good as I look. My big problem is I got most of my cloths that fit now I got as hand me downs so they dont' fit how I like them to. It takes me forever to find anything I am comfortable in and I feel like i am always wearing the same things over and over again.

FYI...several years ago, when I could afford my really good hairdresser, she told me that it's better not to wash it every day to keep it from drying out and getting weak, so I've always been an every other day washer...bangs really help, b/c you can wash your bangs, sprinkle a little powder on the oily roots, and you're good to go!

  • What I love is that I have been in maternity pants since I was about 8 weeks, just the ones that sit below the belly.  Now I am wearing all maternity clothes and the pants no longer fit me!  They all start to fall as the day goes on, so now I look like my crotch is by my knees and my butt is saggy.  I just hope I "pop" one of these days so I can start to look pg and not chubby!
  • I was a size two/ four and quickly started showing at about 10 weeks. I don't know about anyone else but during my pregnancy I have been very "emotional" and very "angry". A source of this for me was my clothing. Everything was too tight and I didn't feel sexy. I decided that just because I am pregnant doesnt mean I can't look sexy. So I now where maternity clothing. Do I need to...probably not. Do I feel good about myself again...heck ya!!
  • It only gets better when NOTHING remotely fits aymore and you have to spend $88 on a frumpy looking maternity dress for a stupid party you dont want to go to in an ugly dress that you would never have picked out before you are pregnant because it is completely not your style but is the only thing that remotely fits....and you have no patience to break a sweat trying on a million stupid maternity dresses with tie waist bands and bows.....why do they think pregnant people like bows on their already oversized bellies??? I won't even start on droopy maternity pants!!!
  • i am so lucky i wear scrubs during the week....i feel like an ass on the weekends when im trying to look cute.  last week we went to dinner and I sat there with my pants unzipped the whole time.  classy, i know.

these babies better appreciate the anguish we are experiencing.

  • It is so hard to find something that fits and doesn't make me feel enourmous!

  • Can I join the club?  I'm wearing a sweater that just last week looked fine, but today is really showing off my belly, and I'm not quite ready to do that yet!  Plus it's feeling a little short, so I've been tugging on it all day to cover my belly band - good look!

  • I basically had a melt down last week and caved in and bought maternity clothes.  I am just barely out of my regular clothes, but they look awful and tight and not at all flattering.  Rather than go buy clothes one size larger, then do it again in less than a month, I just bought maternity. I spent $400 and I'm so glad I did- I don't care if I look like I'm wearing a tent, at least I'm comfortable and sort of look pregnant due to the clothes- instead of just fat and squeezed into too-tight pants!
