Re: Massive Migraines??

  • Lots of naps. Which are never a possibility when I have a migraine.

Mine are all behind my right eye, and have me convinced I have a tumor. I, so far, have managed not to take any tylenol... but I'm so nervous after my miscarriage (i took muscle relaxers, ibuprofen and tylenol 3's last time due to a back injury before I knew i was PG) so I'm determined to stay away!!

Hot showers work well for me too. Or a relaxing bath.

  • I get them too.. I actually ended up in the ER the week before BFP for them.. I usually eat something or lay down and they go away. ?I never had a problem with headaches before. ?Good luck!
  • I don't get migraines but I see posts like this all the time and I just want to say, I am so sorry you have to go through that!  I don't know if my sympathy is worth much but you ladies have it.  Migraines/bad headaches are the worst!
  • I get migraines all the time- although for some lucky reason they've gotten better in pg for me.  Did you try some caffeine?  A little goes a long way and the 2 migraines I've had during the last 13 weeks- that seemed to be the cure.  My OB said it's fine to have a limited caffeine intake.  GL!
  • I totally got them in my 1st tri... take a tylenol and an nap .. good luck
  • i've gotten them my whole life, but they have been especially bad with pregnancy.  water and caffeine help sometimes (i usually just have a cup of tea - caffeine in moderation is perfectly safe).  tylenol is also safe - i take 500 mg.  if that doesnt work, my ob has given me a prescription for fioricet, which has been a godsend!  but, it makes me sleepy, so cant take it at work.

  • it's all b/c of the hormonal change -make sure your diet is good. dont eat too much (if any) chocolate, no coffee, no soda! this all can trigger a migraine. I  would go as healthy as possible and i guarantee you they will pass.. ohh, and absolutely no stress -sounds impossible sometimes.

i actually suffer from bad migraines and take inhalers, but since i got pregnant i havent had many migraine.. i'm not sure if it's due to the pregnancy or if it's the point that i eaat extremely healthy now.

It wont hurt to give it a try for a week and see how you feel, worst thing that can happen is that your body gets a nice healthy feeling ;)

  • I am prone to migraines to begin with, but I will say that this week in particular has been a bad week for me.  I have tried both caffeine, tylenol, increased h20 intake, and honestly I have not found too much help there. That is not to say you won't though - so give it a shot.  I did find warm showers to help me a bit though so give those a try to - at the very least it will help relax you a bit even if it does not help with the migraine.  Wishing you a painfree day.....
