3. Give me your healthy snack ideas for us adults. I am stuck on breakfast ideas too. my favorite quick breakfast was an english muffin with peanut butter. Now, I love the banana waffles from trader joes. For snacks, pria bars are yummy. I also like hummus with celery

5.How often do/did you wipe your baby's gums before s/he grew out teeth? I haven't yet, but I keep meaning to buy a little finger toothbrush. I can't remember how old Hannah was...maybe around 9 months?

6.Can the Graco travel system car seats be forward facing as well? What exactly is a convertible car seat and when do you start to use one? no, only convertible car seats can be forward facing. You need to look at your infant car seat and see what the weight limits are. Hannah grew out of hers lengthwise - long before the weight limit. She was rear facing in a convertible seat until she hit the rear facing weight limit.

Can you add Caden to the Birthday list - 9/3/06

1. Favorite local spot for a daytime outing with the baby? On the weekends we get to actually go out in the daytime and we do a lot of parks and the zoo. Also during the summer there are so many events put on by the cities we live in for free and I try to keep track of those for DH and DS to go to them. I loved going to the bookstore when I was on maternity leave.

2.How far in advance do you buy clothes? Sometimes up to a year now...I am always on the lookout for a good deal.

3. Give me your healthy snack ideas for us adults. I am stuck on breakfast ideas too. For me I always like having an apple or something around to snack on...and veggies and laughing cow cheese is a good snack. Also for breakfast i like to eat a whole wheat english muffin with I can't believe it's not butter spray (or a little peanut butter when I need it)

4.If you went back to work, how old was your DC? 3 months old

5.How often do/did you wipe your baby's gums before s/he grew out teeth? I really didn't do this much...wasn't great about the gum brushing

We started using our convertible car seat rear facing first because DS was so heavy and I couldn't carry him in the infant seat anymore and then when he turned one the dr. gave us the go ahead to turn him around.

7.What are some great toys for a one year old? My DS still wasn't REALLY playing with toys at one, but we loved this little piggy bank or anything he could turn lights or music on or off. He also loved things he could hit with a hammer.

8.Whats going on this week? We are trying, slowly, to get ready for baby #2....but other than that not much is going on. So thankful.

I really like walnuts and craisins, and I do scrambled egg whites with a little bit of basil and tomato with shredded hashbrowns. I have tons more ideas, but nobody wants me to write a book here!

NO!! The Graco is only rear facing, a convertible carseat is one that usually has weight limits ranging from 5lbs-100lbs depending on brand and can sometimes be rear and forward facing.

Not sure, we havent reached that milestone yet!

1. Favorite local spot for a daytime outing with the baby? When the weather is nice we go to the zoo, when it's not so nice with go to the Kids Quest Children's Museum in Factoria

2.How far in advance do you buy clothes? Now we're just buying them as she needs them (or Mommy gets the urge to shop) which isn't working so well right now because she needs long sleeve shirts and everyone has there spring/summer lines out.

1. Favorite local spot for a daytime outing with the baby? This was my question. We haven't had a lot of outdoor outings with Mikayla since it's been cold, but so far she's really liked the beach. The waves were mesmerizinggggggg... At the mall she was all about the huge aquarium at the Rainforest Cafe so we're thinking of visiting the Seattle Aquarium soon.

2.How far in advance do you buy clothes? I've learned to buy as I go, and up we usually buy a size that's big enough where things are roomy. I bought a lot of outfits for her in the beginning that she never got around to wearing, now I try to buy just a little in advance.

3. Give me your healthy snack ideas for us adults. I am stuck on breakfast ideas too. Breakfast is usually cereal (usually Special K - Red Berries is my favorite) because it's quick. My problem with snacks is I seem to get hungry again so quick! I just started trying out cottage cheese mixed with fruit today, it kept me pretty full for awhile. Other stuff I try are apples with peanut butter, low fat granola bars, wheat pita with hummus.

I would think not because the weight requirements are so low the child wouldn't qualify to be forward facing anyways? I guess convertible just means it goes rear or forward facing. We used it when DD outgrew the length requirements for her infant seat.

1. Favorite local spot for a daytime outing with the baby? When ds was a "baby" anything was do able for an outing. Now, the park, children museums, playdate at houses.

2.How far in advance do you buy clothes? My question.. I usually stock up about a year in advance. I have already bought stuff for next winter on sale now. With our weather most things can be worn all year.

I believe it is a rear-facing infant seat, so no forward facing. A conv seat can be used rear and forward facing, depending on your childs weight, and is used for a long period of time.

1. Favorite local spot for a daytime outing with the baby? Anywhere Finn can run around! Rainy days we frequent the indoor toddler gym at our local community center or go to Zoomazium or the Children's Museum. Nice days we go to one of our many local parks.

2.How far in advance do you buy clothes? It depends, When he was an infant, I was buy a year ahead, taking advantage of the sales. Luckily, he has always fit. Now, I am too nervous to buy too far ahead so I buy as he needs things.

3. Give me your healthy snack ideas for us adults. I am stuck on breakfast ideas too. I love edamame, Fruit, hummus, and sweet potato fries. For breakfast I usually eat an egg or frozen waffles from Trader Joes.

5.How often do/did you wipe your baby's gums before s/he grew out teeth? He got his first tooth at 4 months, so we started brushing then.

We started using our convertible around 8 month old because DS hated reclining in the infant seat and prefered to sit more upright (still rear facing until after a year, though)

2.How far in advance do you buy clothes? Up until recently, I had limited myself to up to 12 months. Now that he's wearing some 12 months, I'm going up to 18 months.

1. Favorite local spot for a daytime outing with the baby? Does the grocery store count? Hmm... we go to a local park.

2.How far in advance do you buy clothes? 1-2 sizes ahead for the most part.

3. Give me your healthy snack ideas for us adults. I am stuck on breakfast ideas too. I buy sliced apples and baby carrots from Costco in bags which make good snacks. I also like cheese sticks and yogurt for a little extra calcium I'm not much help on breakfast as I have oatmeal every morning with fruit. Sunday we do a big family breakfast but otherwise I stick with my tried and true.

4.If you went back to work, how old was your DC? She was 3 months old when I went back P/T and 6 months old when I was back up to full time.

5.How often do/did you wipe your baby's gums before s/he grew out teeth? Before teeth? Never... Now that we have teeth we brush once a day. Pedi has said to try for 2x per day now.

6.Can the Graco travel system car seats be forward facing as well? What exactly is a convertible car seat and when do you start to use one? Infant seats are for rear facing only. A convertible seat can be used both rear and forward facing. They can be used right away if you choose. Most have a lower end weight limit of 5 pounds. You can also wait until your LO outgrows the infant seat (usually 22-30 pounds depending on the seat). We switched DD to the convertible at 6 months. She was about 17 pounds and 26 inches long.

We don't have a favorite. I'm sure it will be a park with big slides when teh weather gets nicer though. We went to teh Everett Children's Museum yesterday and had a blast. She just LOVES to go "bye-bye" on the weekends though..

A convertible is just a car set that can be either forward or rear facing. You could use one from the start as they go down to 5 pounds (some). Personally though, an infant seat is SOO convienent (sp) especially when they are asleep, you don't have to fumble with taking them out etc...

I used the Graco until he was just over a year...I don't think you can use it forward...but I could be wrong. We have a convertible one now...it said you could use it for NB's too..but I never did...I liked the Graco so I could snap it in and out

DS likes carrying around toothbrushes and plastic spoons....he would rather play w/ those over any toy

7.What are some great toys for a one year old? Push and ride on cars, shape sorters, blocks, activity tables, Duplo Legos

1. Favorite local spot for a daytime outing with the baby? Don't have one yet. We hang out at home a lot or possibly shop at local stores.

2.How far in advance do you buy clothes? Up to two sizes bigger. One jacket I fell in love with is a year bigger than dd.

3. Give me your healthy snack ideas for us adults. I am stuck on breakfast ideas too. Fruit is probably the easiest. How about mixed bag of raisins, nuts, crackers and sorts? String cheese?

5.How often do/did you wipe your baby's gums before s/he grew out teeth? My question. My dd pediatrician told us to start doing this at her 1 month appointment and wondered how often everyone else did it. Guess most of us don't know about it or rarely do it, like me.

1. Favorite local spot for a daytime outing with the baby? We haven't really done these yet since I work basically 6 days a week. We just sit outside our house in the yard =]

2.How far in advance do you buy clothes? N/A. We are still using clothes we got as gifts. We got from preemie all the way to 18 months.

3. Give me your healthy snack ideas for us adults. I am stuck on breakfast ideas too. Sorry, but I'm no help here. My snacking isn't healthy and I don't really eat breakfast. These are currently my problems as well!!

4.If you went back to work, how old was your DC? I had an emergency c-section on a Wednesday and released Saturday and Ray San was in the NICU so I went back to work on Monday. When we brought him home I went back two weeks later so he was around 3 months old.

5.How often do/did you wipe your baby's gums before s/he grew out teeth? I try to use the gum brush daily, but sometimes I'm just too lazy. He's getting teeth now and he's corrected age of 4 months.

6.Can the Graco travel system car seats be forward facing as well? What exactly is a convertible car seat and when do you start to use one? This was my question. I read the instruction manual wrong so I was confused about my infant seat. I understand it all now though. Thanks ladies!!

I'm a little late on getting this done... So sorry to hear Cruz has the flu again! Poor guy!

1. Favorite local spot for a daytime outing with the baby? I liked walking the mall because it was inside and a place to get some exercise, but I love to go to the zoo with Em.

2.How far in advance do you buy clothes? Usually only the next size up. When she was born we both nb and 0-3 months.

3. Give me your healthy snack ideas for us adults. I am stuck on breakfast ideas too. I am the queen of unhealthy snacks, lol, but I like to snack on fruit or popcorn. They make 100 calorie popcorn bags.

4.If you went back to work, how old was your DC? I went back to work for three days (summer break started) and DD was two months old.

5.How often do/did you wipe your baby's gums before s/he grew out teeth? We bought one of the brushes that go on your finger just to get in the habit of "brushing her teeth" we did it pretty regularly.

6.Can the Graco travel system car seats be forward facing as well? What exactly is a convertible car seat and when do you start to use one? The travel system seats are infant seats and as far as I know you cannot turn them forward. The convertible seat is the seat you use once DC is too big for the infant seat. It can face both forward and backward depending on where your child is carseat standard-wise.

8.Whats going on this week? I'm having a pampered chef party and will decide if I want to become a consultant. I'm pretty excited about it.

9. Questions for next week? When travelling, do you have DC sleep in the PNP or with you? If they sleep in the PNP, any tips for helping them STTN?
