Failed BPP Test

Hey Ladies.  I'm new on here and so happy to have some experts to ask questions to!  I'm 31 weeks now (expecting my first child- a son)and have been on bed rest since 14 weeks.  I have placenta previa and a two vessel cord.  I went in for my second biophysical profile test today (they have me going 2x a week now) and the tech told me that he failed with a 6/10.  She wouldn't give me any details and told me that the doctor would call me today and we'd re-test tomorrow.  From what I could tell (without her help) he didn't do the fetal breathing movements.  When they checked the placenta his head was also right there pushing against the placenta and cervex.  I could have told them that before I went in there....lots of pressure.  Anyway, the question is what do they do if he doesn't pass again?  Anyone know?  This is my first baby and this is all a little frightening!  I appreciate your help!

    When I was pregnant, I was also having 2 BPP's a week.  My DS always failed the non-stress test part.  His heartrate never went up with movements like they want to see.  However, everything always looked good at the ultrasounds.  My OB told me that as long as they are monitoring 2x week and the u/s is looking good, we weren't going to do anything.  She said that it was the u/s that was the most important part of the BPP.

    I'm not sure what they do in all cases, but I think depending on why he failed, they might talk about when/if it's best to deliever you. Please keep us posted! I'll keep you and your little one in my prayers!

    Thank you for your support!  I go back today to do another BPP.  They didn't do the NST yesterday which seemed very strange to me.  I'm going to insist I see a dr or nurse today before they send me home.  I've been worried sick since yesterday morning.  Thank you for your replies.  I appreciate all of them.  :)
