Isn't that the company that sells makeup? (Sorry in advance if I'm wrong on this...)
Yes, it's called Artistry. My mom works in their product development department.

Yes they are a scam but they are also very much like a cult. The "preach" about about how to run your "business" which is basicly not doing anything but focusing on it. The say TV is bad and they also have books that tell you how you should raise your kids and imply that if you don't follow these books that you will have out of control kids. DH was involved in "the business" before I met him. By involved I mean spending more on their crap than he was making selling it. I put a stop to that crap before I agreed to marry him. I thought I was getting him to see the light on all of this nonsense until he mentioned the parenting book they say to follow (babywise, childwise). He something about how it was about time to buy the book so I have time to ready it. I've read parts of this book and it's not at all for me. He also talked about how some of his "friends" from the business talked about how wonderful the series is. We have never spent and non amway related time with these "friends". They also never rsvp'd to our wedding or DH's b-day party. As far as them thinking that the books are wonderful, they have only been parents for about a month. They also criticized DH and I for having a baby now because DH has to rely to a job for money. I hate amway, hearing it even slightly mentioned, and I'm starting to hate anything even slightly associated with Amway.

I totally agree with you. I don't know anything about the parenting books (didn't know they had that stuff), but I would question who exactly they are written by, etc. What is in them you don't like? There are definitely all sorts of parenting styles. But it looks like you already have a lot of other kids - what's w/ the sudden new rush to buy new parenting books???
My husband, when we were in college (we met in high school) joined Quixstar for about a minute. It was totally scary the meetings and cult like culture. I hate it. And he always ended up spending money instead of making money - it was such a complete joke.
Then I was roped in to doing Arbonne in college (I had no idea what it was like going into it) and it was very much the same cult like experience. It was so God awful - since then ANYTHING of the sort totally gives me the creeps. Not to mention all the lies I was taught my Arbonne to tell people in order to sell stuff (too bad I knew more about cosmetics than the people running my team! lol)

DH two kids from his first marriage. I had a son before I met him. This is our first baby together. He mentioned buying the book like there wasn't a question as to if I should read and or follow it. DH works 12hrs a day, plus drive time is 14hrs, and 5 days a week. I am a SAHM. Yes this is our baby but I'm the one that is going to be doing most of the day to day work. I think I should be the one to make decision about how often to feed that baby and what kind of routine is best. I have done this before and I know what works best for me but Amway has DH so scared that if he doesn't follow this book to a T that we will have out of control children. He didn't follow it with his kids but there aren't a good example. The spend most of the time with their mom who is a nut. They have some issues but it isn't from not following this book.

When my BIL first moved in with his wife they went to church and the first people to come talk to them asked if they could come over for dinner(rude) then they came and talked about Amway can you believe that??? They said they wanted to be friends and how it was a great business. Blah blah blah. Then the same thing happened to my other SIL and it was even at a different church! Two guys asked if they could come over after church and they made it seem like it had to do with the church. And then they did the same thing with the whole same speech......I think it is a cult. If you want $$$ work like a real person does.
Re: Does anyone have any experience with Amway?
ok i'm totally off...i thought amway was a train company lol.?
