I should've just added this to my previous question! Our pedi said anytime now until 6 months we can start feeding our DD rice cereal. Did you just buy the store bought kind or is there a way you can make your own?
I recall a lot of gals on here making their own baby foods and I'm definitely going to give that a try once she hits that milestone. There's a good website that was suggested but I don't recall it. Can you remind me!?
TIA!!
Re: Rice cereal?
We started with Rice cereal I just bought from bigg's - I can't remember the brand. We're onto solids now. I've found this website really helpful.

I've skipped rice cereal all together with both my little ones and will for this one too... it offers little nutritional value and can lead to some nasty constipation.
But that's not what you asked
...
If I were going to feed cereal I would make it myself - instructions here - with either oatmeal or brown rice (both have more to offer in the nutrition dept. than white rice products).
Good luck to you!!
Hannah
We did cereal several times just for practicing eating something textured and off of a spoon - but once she had that down we moved on to fruits & veggies, because like Hannah&Ben said, it doesn't offer any nutritional value and is so binding. Oh, and Ava didn't like it anyhow. She did do oatmeal later on, mixed with a fruit. I did make everything myself, but for cereal and oatmeal I just bought it from the store (Earth's Best). I figured it wasn't a big deal since it wasn't something we used much of.
