Hi Ladies,
I hope everyone had a good weekend! I was just wondering if anyone else was having a really hard time with names? DH and I have one that is probably our number one, Emma Kathryn because Emma is DH's grandmothers name and Kathryn is my grandmothers name, so it has special meaning to us both. However, we all know how popular Emma is now (although I don't know anyone named Emma). I go back and forth between just saying "Oh well, I had about 5 Jessica's in my classes growing up and they all survived" haha to saying that it's too popular now.
We have had a hard time coming up with other names that we both like and it seems like we get the name question now at least once a day from a family member. We have a few others that we like, but nothing that really jumps out to us. When you decided on a name (if you have) was it because it jumped out to you and you just said 'Thats it!' or was it just one of the few that both you and DH could agree on? I know we have a lot of time to decide still, thank goodness, but it seems like we will never find one! Ha!

I made a list of names and DH crossed off the ones that he didn't like/couldn't live with.
(before he crossed any off, we each secretly picked our fave off of the list.... and it ended up being the same name.)
That's how we got Scarlett, and then for Leah we just took my husbands name (Lee) and made it more feminine
Jackson Douglas (AKA "The Squishy")
I am a Jessica and it did not bother me at all that there were 2 others in my class growing up. Now as an adult I only know 1 Jessica and she lives in another state. So growing up with a very popular name was no big deal.
With my daughter I heard the name Ava and LOVED it from the time I heard it. I never spend time on baby name sites or anything so I did not realize when we picked it that Ava has been in the top 5 for like 5 years! When someone pointed it out --- DH and I talked about changing the name but it was the only "perfect" name for us to name her. I don't personally know another Ava, but I know there are lots of them out there now. I think if the name is right for both of you just go for it!
My sister's name is Emma, she is 35 years old though, so her name wasn't too popular in her age group. she was also named after our grandmother.
We are having the hardest time with naming this kid. He will be our 3rd boy and it was hard enough the first two times. Try the 3rd time, with the same sex!
btw, I love Emma Kathryn, very pretty. GL!
