DD's new crazy strange bad habit is bonking her head on the floor or the couch when she's upset. She'll even hit her head with her hands (that she learned from a 3 y/o at the sitters)
Please tell me your DC does that and what your reaction to them is.
Re: Please tell me DD's not the only one banging her head on purpose!
I ignore it.
He does it all.the.time! It's so annoying, but I have noticed it stops quicker if I ignore it
My DD also did this - I thought I might have been the only one with a girl head banger, it seems more common in boys. Anyway, we ignored it and she only kept it up for a couple of weeks.
Her pedi suggested putting her in time-out if it didn't let up on it's own, but we didn't get to that point. The main thing is not to draw a lot of attention to it, so I vote for ignoring.
I know it's hard to see them do that, but I've also read that it's self-limiting behavior and that if it starts hurting, they will back off. Good luck!
