Speaking of NT Scans

I never did get my results and never thought to ask. My OB said everything looked normal at the time, and we just went with it. At this point, I'm not sure I want to ask... it's not going to change anything. I wouldn't have an amnio regardless of the odds so I think I'll just leave it.

It's amazing how much I paid attention to things during the first pregnancy and knew everything that would happen when. I feel like this one's already suffering from being the second because I'm just not able to give him the 1:1 attention I was able to give DD, even during pregnancy. Poor little guy. Oh well - I'll have some good time with him while I'm on mat leave - we're still going to send DD to daycare most days because our daycare is so full, I'm afraid to even reduce her to fewer days in case we can't get them back when I go back to work.

    I can understand not wanting to lose days at day care?my friend is in a similar situation as her husband has more time at home, but she still sends her DD (age 3) to day care so not to lose her spot.

    I know I have to look into places soon... though I won't be sending my baby to day care until he/she is 6 months old as I have some leeway re: bringing the baby to work?work for family business and can put a pack & play in my office.

    You know, sometimes I think it would be better to NOT know all the information. ?If I didn't read message boards I would have no clue to ask for the exact NT scan odds. ?My BFF just had a baby and she didn't know the name of most of the tests they gave her. ?The OB told her they were negative and she was fine with that. ?For all she knew, her results could have been 1:300, but since she didn't know to ask, she didn't have to fret about it.?

    I am not into the ignorance is bliss mentality.  I would want to know.

    Joebunny, it's not so much ignorance is bliss as opposed to what would knowing mean to me? Based on my conversations with my OB, I have nothing to worry about, so knowing a number isn't going to change that. Even if my odds of downs were 1:10, I really don't think I'd have an amnio, so while the information could help me prepare somewhat, it probably wouldn't change the preparations we're making for DS anyway.

    I'm 45 and my genetic counselor told us that if they didn't call within a week of the test everything was normal.  I saw my OB after the NT and 1st round of blood work and she said everything looked great.  It's been over a week since my second blood test and they didn't call. 

     My big Ultrasound is Tuesday and I have my monthly Dr's appt on Friday.
