Amnio

Hi Ladies-

I am such a concrete person that I decided at 38 I do want an amnio. i questioned my OB about the procedure and the odds. i have a healthy 19 yo DD and 2 SD's, 18 and 12. I am praying that everything is ok with this baby too. Ny NT results are strong but I just have fear that I may the 1:99,000 and I have to know. It will be at noon on tuesday. I will let you know how it goes. Have a great weekend all1

Hey there- I've pretty much decided to do the same. I cant handle worrying for the rest of the pregnancy. I wish you the best. Definitely let us know how it all works out! Smile

My first trimester screen results were not as good (1:148) and we decided on the amnio too. We need to know! I had the amnio on Tuesday and it was really easy, it didn't hurt at all and I had no issues whatsoever afterwards. Good luck with yours!!!

I made the same decision. My NT results were good but I still feel like someone has to fall in that undetected category - it could be me. I need to know. Mine is scheduled for next week. Good luck ...I'm sure everything will go well.

Thanks for all the support. I am glad I am not overreacting but I know I would always wonder for the rest of the pregnancy. Mine is this Tuesday and I will update everyone

They take between 7 and 10 days- The OB is hoping I will have them before St. Patty's day because that is when my anatomy scan is-Thanks for the well wishes

I hope it all goes well for you. I'm up in the air about it and still don't know what I will do. My NT scan is a week from today, so I guess I will see how that goes first. Good luck to you!

I hope all goes well with your amnio! I had my second set of bloodwork today, for my integrated sequential. They give me results in one week. I already signed a waiver saying that I won't get the amnio unless the results are abnormal. It's funny, I've always been the kind of person that needs to know everything but for this, I believe less intervention is better. Unless the results are bad (hope not), then I guess I'll go ahead and get the amnio.
