Rude comment DH's friend made...

So we went to a comedy club the other night with some friends and as we're walking out, I'm limping a bit. Dh's friend asks what's wrong and I said it's my arthritis.

He says "OMG I really hope you guys are planning to adopt because your genes suck!"

What with the Hodgkin's I had and R.A., I guess I'm a walking time bomb, right? Ugh I so should have throat punched him...

DH has a friend or 2 like that, that just says the stupidest stuff without even thinking and has no clue what he said was wrong, i wont hang out with those guys, such jerks! no wonder why they dont have a GF

lol I like the way you think. the guy admittedly says he's an ass, and says he will adopt b/c if he had kids they'd surely be assholes like him. ugh.

He was annoyed and felt bad... that's just how this guy's always been. I think no more hanging out with him... Though I've gotten to the point where I don't care what he says. I do sometimes think it's true, that I do have crappy genes. Huh?

Awful! I'm with Mandee on how to handle it. I hope DH steps up when his "friend" says something so insensitive and rude to his wife. GL dealing with that guy, hopefully you don't have to be around him much.
