Please rec. your alphabet floor mats

I am thinking about getting those foam alphabet mats for the playroom. ?The room is carpeted, so we don't really need them.... but hey, when has that ever stopped me when it comes to DS.

Can you recommend a good source? ?I love the ones from one step ahead, but wanted to see if there are other options. ?I'm looking to cover an 8x10 area.

?Thanks!?

  • we have the blue mats by step2. you can buy them online at step2.com, target or toysrus. i think they are 4 for $20 -- we got 4 sets and they also come in pink. they are easy to clean and we are happy w/them. i didnt go w/the alphabet ones because i've heard other people complaining that their dc will pull at them and make a mess. hth! =)

  • Just a warning ?- we had them and I HATED them.

They were impossible to keep clean and the puzzle pieces were always removed and never replaced so they were everywhere and it made doing "clean up" before leaving the basement a HUGE chore.

I sold ours in a garage sale 3 months after I got them.

    Just one gal's experience!

You may want to post on the 24+ toddler board and ask those girls if they like theirs and still use them.

  • Not sure if you have Ross or Marshall's where you are, but you can buy them there.  That's where I got mine and I think I paid something like $8.00.
  • Good to know about the pieces coming out. ?Thanks! ?I could try the solid ones from Sam's Club. ?I just don't think they are as cute.

  • We have this one from One Step Ahead:

Let me tell you - it's the best one I've seen.  It is SO much thicker and cushiony than any of the others - I did a lot of searching around before getting this one. If I had to do over again however, I  probably would go with the plain sections instead of the Alphabet b/c DD LOVES to take it apart now.  But I just deal with it and replace the pieces when she's done playing.
