I keep hearing stories of women being induced with pitocin and eventually getting a CS. I'm just wondering if any of you have had a successful vaginal delivery after receiving pitocin... I'm sure there are plenty of women out there who have, I just havent come across any of them yet, sadly.

Re: induction that did NOT lead to CS?
Yep. Took two tries but I'm happy with how it all turned out

Same here. I think the inductions that lead to c/s are usually more of the elective variety. If your body and/or baby isn't ready, induction is a lot more likely to fail.
Before I was induced I asked the same thing
I even saved the link to all the replies, because I found it so encouraging! GL!

Oh awesome - thank you!
(and thanks to everyone for your responses!)
Two angel babies 11/09 and 4/10
I was induced and had a very successful induction and vaginal birth.
This is kind of a ridiculous assumption. My doctor refused to induce me until it was no longer safe for me to be pregnant. They tried to ripen my cervix with prostaglandin gel after I was over a week overdue. I technically went into labor on my own, and after 36 hours, some pitocin, and a baby's fluctuating heartbeat, I was told I needed a c-section. I never dilated past 1 cm.
These kind of assumptions by those who have never experienced a c-section are why women can feel badly about c-sections and feel like it's her own fault.
On the flip side. I know a woman IRL who was induced and had her baby vaginally, and she was only induced because she didn't want to go past her due date. Totally elective.
Me! ?Pitocin didn't really do anything for me. ?Didn't really progress until she broke my water.
