Babi Italia Pinehurst in Espresso. Available at BRU.
I looked at all the cribs that got an A rating for safety from Baby Bargains. This was the cheapest. It also has styling that DH and I like. We decided to go with the convertible because we preferred the look over the regular, and we figured that plus the versatility made it worth another $100 to us.
Jenny Lind crib from the Land of Nod... I keep on going back to this one.I know there are less expensive versions of this crib, but its the finish that gets me.
got an a in baby bargins, loved the look and style of it, made of good hardwood and good cratmenship (dh inspected it to no end), and we found a good deal on it at direct buy.
I have a Pali that I bought w/ baby #1. I bought it because it ranked high and I got it at a great price. It's natural wood because I wanted it to be more gender-neutral. It's not a convertible because the nursery is really too small for a double bed. I'll be using it with baby #2 and I'm happy it will get so much good use.
We have ordered the Romina Karisma. It looks great and is made from 100% wood. It engineered like real furniture that will last for years not a crib that is made to last two years. We went with the convertible version.
We got the Ma Marie in black/cherry by Stanley Young America. DH showed it to me months ago and we found a floor model on clearance so we bought it. Otherwise we wouldn't have been able to afford it or even justify the original price of $1400. I think you can find them for $750 now but that's still awfully steep. Oh it has good reviews, blah blah blah. I just love how pretty it is. It converts to a toddler bed, then a full size bed, and has a trundle option that we'll get.
Thanks for all the replies so far! These are great and I'm saving this list.
We have been considering cheaping out on an Ikea crib and splurging on an organic mattress--the Ikea cribs get great reviews in Baby Bargains but lots of complaints on the Baby Bargains message board for gaps between the mattress and the crib. I'm interested in other possibilities... and also curious if anyone else has/is considering an Ikea crib.
Munire Urban, in espresso. Loved it at first sight, decided to purchase after reading positive reviews online and in Baby Bargains.
Super impressed wtih quality now that it's in!
ETA: Loved that it converts to a toddler bed and then a full/double bed.
Also, want to add that we loved how none of the edges have sharp corners. I know all cribs made have to be safe, but we really liked the rounded edges for our baby's comfort/safety and ours.

The IKEA crib is fantastic, totally not cheaping out. You saw the reviews and it's very cute. Had we still lived near an IKEA and didn't have to pay for outrageous shipping then we would have gone with the IKEA crib.

Usually I am a big Ikea fan, but I am concerned about this gap issue and whether it might be a safety concern...
This Winsor BassettBaby crib. It scored high in baby bargains and we just loved it. It was bought as a gift to us from my BFF and her family. They got it from babyage.com on sale with free shipping. Much better than the Target price.?
Baby Cache Heritage in Chestnut - available at BRU. We were surprised at how much we loved this set, but it is so unlike others out there, really detailed and beautiful, and like most convertable cribs it converts to a toddler bed and then a full bed, which is really pretty in and of itself. So, perfect furniture for us.
I have a few pages of crib pics with the brand, model, and MSRP if you want it, send me your email. They're just ones I thought were cute and suitable for a boy or girl.

Thanks! That would be great. I'm jenn22211@yahoo.com
I'm doing things a little differently. I've decided against the convertable crib b/c the room he will be in is already pretty small and we are looking at moving so most houses do not have very large 2nd and 3rd bedrooms and I just think a full bed takes up too much room in a kids room, He doesn't need a full size bed, I think I'm also going against baby furniture in general. I hate the idea of baying "baby" furniture just for it to look too baby in a couple of years, I don't want to waste so I'm going to go to Jordans and some other furniture stores this weekend and just look at 2 dressers, tall and long and then get a regular crib that matches.
I'm trying to be really good about money and not just buy every cute thing I want and I figure this was the best investment in the long run, besides I really want to start a college fund as soon as the baby gets here so I'm going to get furniture that will last a REALLY long time, (hopefully )
I have no idea yet... I'm still trying to convince FI to get a mini-crib. Our lease isn't up until March and we only have a large one bedroom apartment right now (I figured the baby is going to sleep in our room for awhile anyway, whether he/she has their own room or not) so I didn't wanna pay for a two bedroom to hardly get used. I have showed them to him online over and over and explained to him that they are plently big enough for an infant, but he just doesn't get it. I think I'm just gonna pull the "suck up and shut up" card and then smile when he says "Wow honey that was a great idea!!"

It's over our budget by quite a bit, but it's the only set that we have really loved, we've seen it in person, and the reviews it gets are great.
Canton 4-in-1 Convertible Crib in honey by Delta
I love the convertible part, easy to purchase from Target, love the color and the reviews are great.

The Bonavita Peyton Lifestyle in espresso. Honestly, it was the best medium-priced crib I could find that wasn't too girly.

Land of Nod Straight Up Crib. We like it because it's boring and it matches our personalities.
Munire Deco. Munire got great ratings, and we really liked the style.
