I dont know if my boy is being stubborn or if he really has no clue but he has no clue what to do on the potty. He sometimes even freaks out if I put him on it. I keep seeing boys younger that are doing great at going on the potty and now the 20 mo I nanny for is going on the potty with no hesitation!! I know he is still young for a boy right, these other boys are the exception not the rule?

I will try to make this brief. I bought the 3 Day Potty Training eBook last week. We started Saturday morning. I screwed up the entire day so we don't count it. Yesterday morning Jack woke up and on his own while playing stopped, screached, and then ran to the bathroom in his room (he had been playing in our bathroom), sat on the potty and peed. Not a drop was spilled on the way. The eBook says it will 'click'. They were right. Jack has had a few accidents in the first couple days and a few poopyish accidents one day before getting it out. We're working on the poops. It's an issue for Jack. Today was his first day back at daycare and I had to pick him up early because he was crying his tummy hurt. He was holding his poop so of course his tummy hurt. He did however pee on the toilet twice at school and didn't have a single accident while he was there for six hours. I brought him home and we had some issues. I tried this new tactic where each time he poops he gets to put a cotton ball in a bud vase. When he gets three cotton balls (three poops in the toilet) in the vase filling it up, he gets a toy motorcycle. He asked for a motorcycle prize so there you go. He got a poop out this afternoon with much less effort and struggle than yesterday. He fights and fights it. Then this evening he panicked and screamed the poop was coming again. I told him to go poop on the toilet if he needs to go. He walked over, pulled his underwear down, climbed up on the toilet and pooped. I put him to bed tonight and heard him up before I had a chance to turn the monitor on. I found him pulling down his pants in front of his toilet telling me he needs to go potty. He climbed up and pooped. I think we may have turned the pooping corner. This is three poops on the toilet with no accidents or even a little bit in his underwear.
I highly recommend buying this eBook. It is worth.every.single.penny.
It is in depth though. You literally cannot leave your child's side every waking hour for at least three days. It took us four since I screwed up the first day. Yesterday was the fourth proper day of the program so I called it our fine tuning day before going back to school. We are keeping Jack home tomorrow and then we'll go back on Monday. He has been in underwear since Saturday morning. Done. No diapers. No pullups. Done.
It's been at least a month since he's peed on the potty. Even more since he pooped and that was just once.
We haven't pushed it at all because of introduction of the baby to the family, I didn't want to do too much at once.
But, it's been nearly 8 months, so I'm thinking we should start soon....I'm not sure though.
Me with my littlest.
I meant to say that Jack exhibited all the emotional and physical signs of being ready including peeing a few times, pooping once and keeping his diaper dry for up to six hours at a time plus being dry overnight once in a while.
Check out the eBook. Google the 3 Day Potty Training. Also read askdrsears section on potty training before you move forward. Three months ago I don't think Jack was ready. Even though the 3 Day plan thinks he would be.
DS will be three in May and has only once used the toilet (yesterday was the first time!) He shows little interest, and while he's been "practice" sitting on the toilet for months, we're nowhere near full-on training.
Between moving cross-country and the new baby coming, however, I'm trying to give it some time before worrying too much about it.
