When did your baby sleep through the night?

I have an 8 week old and a 2 year old...my 2 year old was sleeping through the night at 8 weeks but I know that's unusual!

When did your little one start sleeping through the night and do you have any tips to help me get my little guy there?

At 14 months he made it to 6am. He has done that maybe 10 times total. Last night he was up at 3am. The thought of an 8 week old STTN boggles my mind, so I am of no help.

The first time he ever STTN he was 17 months. But that was only a few times. He has just now at 2 yrs started STTN more consistently.

At around 3m, they started giving us a 6-hr. block during the night. ?They were about 5m before it was 8 hrs., then it quickly became 11-12 hrs.?

I think I may hate you for your 2 year old sttn at 8 weeks. Mine did not until his 1 year birthday. At 2.5 he stopped and now climbs in with us somewhere between 3-5am.

I don't think you should even be trying with an 8 week old. Maybe at 6 months you could try, but even then, face it, they'll do it when they're ready and not before.?

DS was 22 mos (when we weaned) but now at 2.5 he wakes up once to come snuggle with us (no big deal).

My dd slept through the night at 6 months. We did CIO at 4 months to get her down to 1 waking and again at 6 months to eliminate all wakings. My ds is 5.5 months and he's still up 3 or 4 times a night. CIO's not working well with him, so we're going to wait a little longer an try again.

My other advice is not to run to get him when you hear a noise. Give him a few minutes and see if he can settle himself down.

DD sleeps through the night maybe half the time. She didnt start doing that until she was almost two. DS is still up almost hourly at 10 months. They are the worst. sleepers. ever.

I'm still waiting for DS to STTN. He's 11.5 years old.

DD STTN at about 6.5 months with a little help from Ferber and Baby Whisperer.

At 8 weeks there is really not much you can do other than keep the lights down and the noise down when he does wake up during the night to help him get his days and nights straightened out. It's not really considered a sleeping "problem" until after 6 months.

5 weeks. She started to sleep 7 hours stretches that worked up to 12 hour stretches by 3 months. She was a great sleeper until 15 months though...stopped sttn for 3 months straight. GL to you!

DS loves to sleep. He has consistently STTN since 5 weeks old.

DD has only STTN a handful of nights. Most nights she wakes 2-4 times.

4 months. I did a VERY mild version of CIO with him at that time. I let him cry for about 10 minutes without going to get him and just as I was getting up, he fell asleep. It was bumpy at first of course, but he STTN pretty consistently at about 5 months.
