i LOOOOOVED it

in fact after i had the epi, and the doc came in to check to see if i was dialated (right before my c/s) i said to him (as he was checking me) "oh my god...that feels sooo much better...i wish i had an epidural everytime you examined me!" the nurse looked at me like i was crazy...i was quite drugged at the time!
Re: s/o stabbed in the back
Hell. I was having off-the-charts contractions and didn't even realize it. DH was the one facing the monitor and kept giving me the side-eye when I wasn't even acknowledging the contrax.
Epi = bliss.

I screamed during my first cervix check when I was induced, it hurt sooooo bad. Had the epi at 4cm and no longer cared what was going on down there!
I always knew I wanted an epi and only regretted not getting it sooner!
I loved it too!! I wish I could have gotten it sooner. I honestly think it helped speed up things because I was more relaxed and could let my body do what it needed to do.
I loved the anesthesiologist! He has a special place in my heart. Everyone commented on how it must have been the perfect epi. No pain, but could still move my legs and could still push effectively (only 20 mins of pushing).
I got my epi when I wasn't even 2cms.
In my defense - I had been going through my induction for almost 36 hours, I had had 3 hours of sleep during that time, and they had just started Pitocin when the nurse came in and said, 'The anithesiologist is next door administering an epi to a patient, do you want me to have him come over here next?'
Um. YES!
I immediately fell asleep for 5 hours, and woke up with a broken water, and was at 8cms. SERIOUSLY - the best invention ever.

I don't know about anyone else, but I was able to get up and walk about an hour or two after delivery. *shrug*

Me too and the first hour after I had her she did leave dh or my arms so there was no need to move around to take care of her.
I had a c-section. I couldn't get out of bed until the next morning, and even then I couldn't just jump out of bed and take care of the baby. My DH had to get him for me. I just want the complete opposite of what I went through with Robbie.
I never in my life thought I would get the epi - I was hardcore natural Mama and did everything I could to study/prepare/research the effects of drugs on baby's system, etc. etc. ?I took Bradley courses and my teacher was so anti-epi she scared the crap out of us about getting induced/getting the epi and all that good stuff (she was kind of out there!).
With that said, after my third day in labor without any food/sleep/rest and contractions that would speed up then slow down, I said screw it - induce me and gimme the epi because I can't take it anymore!! It was the BEST thing I've ever done because I was finally able to rest and get some sleep before DS came! ?I'm not even going to consider natural for the next one - STAB ME IN THE BACK please!! ??
Duh. *smacks forehead* Sorry, I forgot. :-)

Lol. It's okay... you aren't supposed to remember how each nestie gave birth
Seriously though, I will probably get the epi with this one. Contractions hurt like a b!tch.
Oh, and I was up not long after birth ... it took a little longer for me because of ^#(*&#% hemmi.

I hated my epi and will definitely try not to have one this time around.
I think the Stab me in the Back badge is hilarious, though.
No defense needed!
Pre labor I was neutral. As the nurses were wheeling my 10cm self (so that's why I was hurting so freakin much!! ha!!) into the hospital I had only two words for them.
Eh ::::contraction:::: Pee.
Meh. Too bad at 10cms they aren't known to be that useful anymore
Yeah and I got to hold DD for 3 mins after she was born and then I had to deal with post-birth complications and didn't get to hold her for 5hrs and I couldn't change a diaper or pee w/o aide for 24 hrs because I'd faint when I stood.
So no epi for me still ='d a crappy post-birth
Aww, thanks Heather
