My belly button ring!! It's time to remove this sucker for good and I can't get it unscrewed! Please don't tell me I have to march my poofy belly into a piercing shop to have them remove it.....
I have a couple of different ear piercings that have barbells in them, and the only way to get them out is to use pliers to unscrew to ball. I couldn't get it out on my own, so I had to go to the tattoo/piercing shop to have it taken out. Good luck!!!
Try needlenose pliers. I used to have one (took it out a few years ago) and that's the only way I could ever get it out. Just put the tip of the pliers right where it comes together and squeeze. It might go flying (and it could also damage the ring, if it's really delicate).
Is it just difficult for you to get the right grasp on it because of your bump, or is it like stuck and won't unscrew?
If #1, I'd just take a break until you cool off and rest your hands and try or have your DS/SO try for you later today.
If #2, I'd try soap and water or something greasy. If that doesn't work, maybe going to the piercing shop could be the last resort?
I think it's just because it's stuck and just won't unscrew. I've had the same one in for 4 years and it's not budging. The idea of pointing sharp objects at my stomach right now isn't very appealing, but I guess it's gotta be done....thanks ladies!
Put on latex or nitrite gloves and try then. It'll give you a much better grip on the jewelry. Are you sure that the ball you're working on actually unscrews? A lot of navel jewelry has a fixed ball on one end and one that will unscrew on the other.
