i have a call into pedi. what's the main reason for giving formula w/ iron as opposed to just plain old formula? i've been giving DD w/o (Enfamil Lipil) and am just now realizing maybe she should be getting it w/.
You will be hard pressed to find formula WITHOUT Iron. Even what you are giving has it.
Iron is so important that even breastfed babies need a supplement
starting at 6 months of age, which they can get from fortified cereals.
Healthy, full-term babies have adequate iron stores to see them through
the first six months when combined with what they get from their
mother's milk.

Sorry I tried to delete, it posted before I was done typing for some reason.
Enfamil Lipil and Enfamil Lipil "with iron" are the same thing, just different graphics. Not sure why. Look at the nutritional content on different cans, it's identical.
