XP: Chicken pox at daycare

UGH!  A 3 month old had them.  He has a twin who does not have it yet.  The center has no idea how he got it!  It's not like he crawls around and no one else there has it. Also they are general immuine until one year. DD is vaccinated but I know that she could still get it.  Great.  I think I will reminder her not to kiss the boys.

  • Yeah I am over the place!  I can't seem to leave the 6-12, post mostly on the 12-24 but I came over her before that board existed.  I have issues.  LOL!
  • No child is immune to the chicken pox.  The chicken pox can be spread through touching of any infected person but is also airborne. You can also get chicken pox through contact with someone that has shingles.  An infant could have caught it anywhere, doesn't have to be at the daycare. It is particularly dangerous for infants to be exposed.  My DS had them at 7 months and it was horrible. He had them in his throat and mouth.
