Elle has discovered her toes and is trying to sit up. The other day she did a baby crunch off the boppy, leaned all the way forward and touched her toes - so cute!
She is still not sleeping thru the night, she wakes up every 2 hrs now although some of it is teething and not hunger; I still nurse her b/c it puts her back to sleep and I need to sleep! I'm hoping some of the teeth will cut soon, she's been teething for a month now and I can feel a couple on top and the bottom
Nicholas is doing great with sitting up and getting very frustrated that he can't get where he wants when he wants to. I told him he just needs to learn to crawl. I am finally feeling two teeth coming up in the bottom and it's making him very cranky. He was pre-teething for a long time with lots of drool, finally felt hardening, but it was just the plate hardening and getting ready and now we're finally at the point of teeth working their way in.
I'm still not being very successful with the weaning. I think the biggest problem is that DH is never around to feed him, so he just constantly smells me as I try to give him a bottle.

I can't believe Hailey is going to be 1 in 3 weeks. Where did the time go? It seems like it was just yesterday that she was born. She's having a blast walking all over the house. I'm getting tons of exercise chasing after her. She said uh-oh today when she threw her food on the floor.
Emma is officially sitting up on her own now and actually pushed up to her hands and knees a few times this weekend. She is 6 months now and weighed in a 18 lbs at the pedi last week. She is just getting over pink eye and her first ear infection. No fun!! We all got pink eye together. We just started adding more solids (had been doing 2x a day rice cereal for a month) and she is not a fan of peas or squash. I am hoping to hold on off sweeter veggies and fruit for a month, so she gets the taste of veggies first. She is blissfully sleeping 10-12 hours a night in one stretch now that her ear feels better, but I am still sleep deprived. Ugh. She is at home with her dad today enjoying the snow, while I am slaving away at work.
Conrad has one heck of a cough and a runny nose, and isn't eating well. But, he's acting like himself despite being sick. He only gets upset when he's coughing, but goes right back to normal as soon as he's done. I haven't called the pedi yet, since he's not showing any other signs of problems. Oddly enough, part of me wants him to get cranky, or get a fever, or get lethargic just so that I know that it's time to do something. Either that, or he needs to wake up better tomorrow!
Desperately wishing today was a snow day...but I too am at work. We're at 28 weeks this week. Had an amazing baby shower over the weekend and now I have more 0-9 month clothing than I know what to do with! It was insane how generous people were. Things seem to be going well *knock on wood*. Going to my first every-two-weeks appointment later this afternoon so I'll get to hear his heartbeat (best sound in the world!). woo hoo!
DH and I are home today, gotta love snow days! Caitlin is doing great although she gets sensitive if we take her out around lots of people. We took her out a couple of weeks ago for brunch with my parents, inlaws, and friends and I think it was just too much. We've been eating take-out lately if we want to have restaurant food
She started rolling from her back to stomach a couple of weeks ago and now she loves to roll around. I can't tell if she's officially teething but she definitely drools a lot! We started on a little cereal twice a day and she loves it. Still pumping and nursing - I'm trying to make it to the end of the school year pumping. I'm already excited about coming back to school next fall and not pump since she'll be 11 months old, eek!
I can't believe my due date is so soon. We had a Jack and Jill shower my DH's friends threw over the weekend. It was lovely. One of his guy friends crocheted a beautiful baby blanket. I was so touched. Our hospital tour was on Sunday which was pretty informative. I liked being able to see the rooms and to know what to expect at INOVA Fairfax. We are still joking about the baby lojack that they put on each infant. We like the system, the name just cracks us up. I'm using today to unpack the baby's room. It's amazing how much stuff she already has....
I can't believe I have little over a month left! I am enjoying the snow day today. Saturday we had our all day birthing class and got to tour L & D. It really started to make it feel real. I ran around all weekend, so today was a blessing to have off. This upcoming weekend I am helping to host on of my dearest friend's bridal shower and then I get to have my baby shower in two weeks. I am really excited to see all my friends and family before the baby comes. I have my growth ultrasound next Monday and can't wait to see her. We are also FINALLY getting our washer and dryer installed this week.
Still just waiting for DD2 to come out. Admitedly, I'm glad she didn't come in the middle of the snowstorm, but now I'm back to wishing her out again!!
It's so fun to read about how everyone is doing! I'm happy to report that Baby Xander is doing well. He's 2 weeks old today and had his first baby well appointment. Since birth he has put on 1 pound and is in the 50th percentile for weight and height! This past weekend we had photos taken by ANS and had a blast. She took some great shots! The sneak peek is on her blog. I'm looking forward to seeing all the pictures. I'm feeling better and have more energy each day from my c-section. I can't believe 2 weeks have gone by. I'm enjoying mommyhood so much! Much more than I could have imagined...my little boy is just amazing!
Well, had a sonogram today because at Friday's appointment they were concerned that little man was breech. Turns out, he's head down and in the right position, which is great, but now they said due to his size that they are going back to my original EDD, 3/14. So I thought I had a week left, but it's two weeks!! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. You'd think they would be more accurate on this stuff, especially since I knew the date of my last period! Feeling good though, I've been going swimming every weekend and I wish I could fit it in during the week because I feel so much better!! It's nice to get my heartrate up without my back killing me. Two hour delay tomorrow plus 3 more full days of work this week, then all of next week. I can make it!!
Carter is still a handful but so much fun. I love watching him learn new things every day. We've lucked out this winter and haven't gotten sick (knock on wood) but his excema comes and goes daily. His new thing is snuggling with the dogs, he can't get enough of the bulldog.
Oh and Mstavish's baby xander is the cutest.thing.ever. ;-)
I am now at the 25 week mark. Overall, I'm feeling pretty good except for some minor aches and pains in the ribs and back. I started a Pre-Natal Stretch and Tone class last Tuesday at Holy Cross Hospital and the instructor is so much fun and I look forward to getting to know the other preggers moms in the class. I also love the different exercises and stretches that she suggests.
Last week I went to a consignment shop sale and bought baby clothes for the very *first* time. I had a reality check/anxiety moment in the store when I realized that this baby is really coming and that I am going to have to take care of it, buy it clothes, decide what it's going to wear, and that DH and I are going to be completely responsible for the well being of this little person. I'm so glad that God made it so we have 9 months to let all of this set in :-) I'm getting more excited everyday though!
Maggie absolutely loved the snow yesterday. It's the first appreciable amount we've had since she's been born so she got to use her snowsuit and mittens. She mostly just pulled snow off the lawn and back onto the sidewalk but she loved digging through it. And then we watched Daddy while he continued shoveling and clearing off the cars. She loves being outside and running around so I can't wait for it to get nicer out. Everyday she wants to "go-go" or "out" and when we do go out she wants to walk everywhere instead of riding in the stroller or cart.
The baby (Molly) is doing well too. I now go for weekly u/s's to make sure she is growing and the placenta is working properly, which makes getting things done at work and home even harder. We are really feeling the time crunch on getting the rooms ready and everything out for the new baby.
We're doing well! Lyra is a joy and we are in love. ?The only problem we are having is that she won't sleep unless being held. ?That makes for some long nights. ?Last night I broke down and had her sleep on me while I snoozed, but don't want to have to rely on that. ?Any suggestions?
We had our first pedi visit today and she has regained half of her lost birthweight in just 5 days! She eats A LOT, so I wasn't terribly surprised. ?I am excited to get past the very-sore-when-feeding stage.
Sorry about the pics in the post. Sometimes they are there, sometimes they aren't, and I can't figure out why!?
Hello Ladies! It's so good to see that everyone and their little ones are doing good...and so many new faces!
Layla has hit the terrible 2's early! Climbing out of the crib...running around and being the boss of the house...basically. I've got a new job and there is absolutely no "nesting" Things have slowed down, thank goodness.
I'll be 17 weeks on Friday! ?We had our monthly checkup this morning and everything looks great. ?Heart rate was 160, but my bloodsugar was a little elevated so that could be why the heart rate was so fast. ?I'm VERY MUCH looking forward to our appointment on 3/25 to find out boy or girl! ?We have names chosen for both, but aren't sharing them with everyone (mainly not my inlaws). ?Feeling well for the most part, but the doc said today if I get another headache like the week-long one I had before, that I need to see a neurologist. ?Scary. ?I hope it doesn't come to that!
Hi everyone! DH worked on our nursery all weekend - with some friends who helped out on Sat..it's looking great and should be finished up this weekend (good thing since i'm 37 weeks!). We've also hired a guy to fix our bathroom so it'll be anyone's guess if that huge project gets finished before our daughter arrives (We had a supposedly-fixed leak that turned out to not be fixed and now requires removal of the tub which will mean retailing..and no main bathroom for about a week!)
I'm doing well so far this week. I'm getting the hang of the gestational diabetes diet, and so far, diet and a little bit of exercise seem to be working to control my numbers. Let's hope that trend continues! I am going to be having weekly appointments with my OB for the next few weeks so she can be sure the GD is under control. If things to well a few weeks in a row, she may just have me fax in my testing info. weekly without coming in every week.
Our big news of the week is that I got a call saying our crib is in. It will be delivered next week. We were sort of shocked because we ordered it only about three weeks ago, and we were told that it was backordered and would take twelve to fourteen weeks to come in. We were hoping that the twelve to fourteen week estimate wasn't right because that would be past my due date, but we weren't expecting to get it only about four weeks after placing the order. I was planning to take my time going through the stack of my stuff that is currently sitting where the crib will go, but now I'm planning to finish clearing space for the crib this weekend.

Gotta go-someone just woke up from her nap.

That's life around here this week.

Overall, May 8 seems to be sneaking up on us!
