Silly question - Anyone else asian with a DC that doesn't look asian at all???

It cracks me up that my child has reddish hair and looks nothing like me.

    Well, my husband is Asian and I'm white.  If she's with only him people thinks she looks Asian.  If she's only with me, they would never think she's biracial.

    I'm only 1/4 Asian (Thai to be specific) but everyone tells me DS has Asian eyes.

    Other than that, he's the whitest baby ever. He has absolutely no yellowish tint to his skin whatsoever... at least not yet. :)

    ETA: I thought it had been previously mentioned on TN that supposedly Asian genes are more dominant and/or more prominent. (Or at least, this is true according to Jon's mom from J&K +8.) There must be something wrong with your baby. ;)

    My DH is fillipino and DD doesn't look asian-ish.  What exactly are you?  I think that fillipino's aren't that dominate b/c DH has a few cousins who are half and they don't look asian either.  Jon from Jon and Kate plus 8 is HALF Korean and he and all those kids look pretty dang asian.  I couldn't believe that when I heard him say that.  He said his dad was blonde w/ blue eyes!  Crazy!

    I'm half Korean and it's the same thing with me and my parents. Funny. You just go to tinypic.com and load a picture there. Then, you cut the code and past it in your Nest profile in the bottom slot. I think it says signature or something. Someone may be able to explain it better.

    How about the opposite of that? DH is Asian (Laotian) and I'm white. Everybody says DD looks completely Asian and nothing like me at all. I think they only see her black hair (mine is light brown). It's funny because all the Asian people we know -- including his family -- don't think she looks very Asian -- they think she looks like me.

    I think she looks completely unique -- not like me or DH. And I love that about her.Stick out tongue

    Well, I pictured our kids to look somewhat like J&K+8's kids, but DD is only 1/4 Korean I guess and she looks 100% white.

    Strangers have asked me if my husband's white when I was out alone with R at BabyGap...what do you think??

    Your DC looks quite Asian, that's too funny people would ask you that!

     

    I have a friend who has a 1/2 Asian baby that looks much more like her than the baby's full Asian father.

    OK, OP and Peacebaby -- your LOs are freakin adorable too. Love those smiles!

    And Sky -- that's really odd that people just ask you that. I think your DC looks pretty dang Asian, too!

    And to end on a world-peace-warm-fuzzy kinda note --isn't it great how "mixed up" races are becoming? Such a non-issue, right?

    I am caucasian and my husband is Japanese,  as my babies have gotten older I think they look like a mix,  but some seem to think they look full asian.  They completely look like their father though, I dont see me at all! So yes I do think Asian genes are dominant!

     I have seen your siggy pic before and thought "is that baby mixed"? Anyway, the older DS gets the more Asian he looks to me and my family, but DH's family thinks he looks more white.

    how about my baby? ?i am filipino, my husband is salvadorean... ?everyone thinks the babe looks just like my husband but i think he looks soooo asian....

    I'm Chinese-American and my DH is white. While we have some relatives that think she looks either white (some of my relatives) or asian (some DH's relatives), DH and I think she looks mixed.

    My baby is Japanese/Italian, mostly...When he was very little I thought he favored my Japanese DH-but now I think he looks more like me!
