My dr tried to convince me to try one when I was pg with Alex. I said HELL NO! He says it takes the pressure/weight off of your back and helps reduce back and pelvic pain. I didn't have any pain and I did not want to wear one.
When I was pg with Foster he said he wouldn't even suggest it since he remembered how opposed I was last time! lol
EDIT - I just looked at the pic and that is not the one he wanted me to wear. The one he wanted me to wear also went up around your torso. It was awful!
Mom to Alex - 8.29.06, Foster - 1.22.09, Emily - 6.24.11
actually it keeps you from having Camel toes!
Vulvar edema is when your who-ha is swollen!
Plus it helps for a prolapsed bladder.... bascially when your bladder is buldging out of your urethra

yes, exactly. this is no mere pregnancy belt. my cousin had severe swelling of her... um.... lips (can i say that? ) and it hurt for her to wear pants b/c they rubbed. i know, i know. anyway, i knew she wore something but not exactly what it was. i am sure that this is it (and i'm sure she'd be really glad to know that my aunt told me all about it as an FYI when i was pg w/ T and even happier that i just posted it on a message board. lol. luckily, i have 26 1st cousins, so taht helps keep it anon. )
um, I had really bad pain in that area when pg with Addie. I had to sit in my office with ice pack after ice pack on my crotch. It would have been nice to have something holding it there so I wouldn't have to try to quickly hide it when someone walked in. However, how does that AND an ice pack not look like a big lump in your pants? Luckily holding mine on the outside eliminated that, gawd I was a sexy pg woman.
I can see the band helping with upper muscle stretching (I almost got a support band b/c I was having ligament pain). But the crotch thing boggles my mind! Unless it helps the band from riding up - I guess that could be it. I had never heard of the pp's story of the camel toe - if that's the case, that would suck!
Re: Please explain what this does?
