  • what is she doing when she wakes up?  If she's not crying or screaming her head off I would leave her alone.  But if she is then I have no idea...maybe start CIO toddler style????

  • We have little regressions here and there.  Usually I am a softie, and bring him into bed with me/us, but sometimes, I use a little tough love, go in there, ask if he wants water (he takes it to bed with him, usually) and tell him he has to go back to sleep because it's nighttime.  It usually works...
  • court--I'll try anything. if you told me to try standing on my head and singing I would! ;)

Ditto above with the exception of the bringing her to bed part. The screaming is unusual for us though. If Mia wakes up crying/screaming more than once in the night, I automatically dose her with some Motrin the 2nd time. Someone mentioned once that it could be growing pains, instead of teeth or any other ailment. Either way, it usually works and we all get some sleep.

  • R has suddenly developed a fear of the dark.  No idea where that came from.  But, she will occasionally wake up during the night, go to the door of her room and freak out until someone takes her back to bed.

We got her one of those Tyke lights that glows and that has helped a lot.

Other than that, I don't know what to say.  Hope you get some sleep soon.

  • yeah thats why I was hesitant to say CIO.  I'm thinking night lights, white noise (Michelle has a fan...her room gets very warm when you shut the door)  those musical light up things that go on the crib....there are some that project pictures on the wall.  Michelle had one that was winnie the pooh.

  • No fun girl. We haven't experienced this but if she wakes up when sick we would bring her to our bed if we couldn't rock her back to sleep. She sleeps like a dream in our bed.

     Best of luck!

  • i do what co does too.  i would tell M that i will read her one story and then it's time to sleep.  mommy is very tired.  i also found that she likes to listen to books on cd - like pokey little puppy.

  • I'm right there with ya, sister. We got a few days of good sleep, then she got a cold a week and a half ago and we're back to being up every night again.

  • I think it might just be this age.  Noah used to be a great sleeper so I don't know what's going on.  He wakes up crying "Where Mommy go?!" over and over.  I started to use a nightlight, didn't help.  My personal belief is that he's having bad dreams and they wake him up and he needs to be comforted.  Our new tactic is having my husband go into his room, rub his back, and guide him toward his pillow - if I go in, he freaks out if I don't pick him up.

  • I have the same thought every day.  The last time Annalise reliably STTN, she was almost 4 months old.  It's been a long long time.

She comes into bed with us the first time she wakes (usually between midnight - 2:30am).  Then most nights she wakes up again around the 5:30-6am mark.  She cries and throws a little fit in our bed.  I tell her that it's still night time and still time to sleep.  She cries.  I finally tell her that Mommy and Daddy need to sleep, so if she can't lay quietly, she'll have to go back to her bed.  That works almost every time.
