am i correct in saying a mothers ring has the children's birthstones only, not the mother and fathers?
?
This is what I always assumed them to be. I have been looking for an inexpensive one. ? www.qvc.com has some nice ones that aren't really advertised as mother's rings, but are nice birthstone rings.
Oh I thought it was something different, like the mother and child neckllace, my sisters and i bought my mom one a few years ago....they are nice, I would recomend having it made it's a lot cheaper and you can choose the setting!!
I don't have one, but my grandmother does. My dad and his 6 brothers and sisters got her one for Mother's Day a few years ago. It has all their birthstones, in order of birth from left to right, set in a channel setting in gold. I want one like it (but NOT with 7 stones, lol) when DH and I are done having babies.

I love the mother's charm necklaces...then you can add birthstones if you have more babies. Etsy have some great ones that you can customize.
I agree!
I actually just got a bracelet on etsy with a charm that has DD's name and B-day on one side and her birthstone on the other. I love it! The seller has some beautiful pieces, I had a hard time deciding what I wanted because I liked a lot of them! She worked with me on a custom piece.
My mom has a ring with my parents birthstone, and my brother and my birthstones, I love that and want to do the same when we're done having kids. She also had a charm necklace with a pic of my brother and I.
DH got me a anniversary band with diamonds and saphires for christmas and when we have our next little one he will get another band so I can stack them.
