So we have had 3 failed IUI's. Since we have the drugs, we our 5 days of stimming into our 4th and last try. We have decided to move on to adoption. With my dx, and pretty slim chances, we decided it was best.
We had a meeting with our RE last month, and the way my body doesn't want to respond, he didn't feel as if we are good candidates. I would only seem to produce 2 mature follies and had low e2 levels.
Fast forward to today.............
i just got a call from my nurse after my u/s and b/w today. She called to ask if we would consider converting to IVF. I have 5 follies (2 at 15, 2 at 14 and 1 at 11). My e2 level is at 450. The cost would be just about half because i am half way through my cycle. I am scared because i never even thought this was an option and had pretty much admitted defeat by my body. I have to call her back with our decision... i just talked to MarcyIam on the phone and she is routing for it! I am making the right decision, right?
I guess the financial part is so nerve wrecking too. On such short notice to drop the cash is eeekk!
Re: would love some more confirmation that converting is a good thing
All the people I know who converted to IVF from IUI are over on SAIF right now. So that to me is a good sign that this will go well!
Lots of luck!
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

2 chem preg, 4 failed IUIs, 2 canc IVFs, 2 BFN IVFs, IVF #5 = BFP!!!
3/23 Beta #1 @ 17dpo = 913, Beta #2 @ 19dpo = 1724, Beta #3 @ 21 dpo = 3240
First u/s 3/29 @ 5 weeks 2 days - 3 sacs 6 weeks 3 days - 3 heartbeats 8 Weeks - Lost Baby C, Babies A and B going strong
that is a lot to take on and a big decision to make... but I'd definitely convert! Success rates for IVF are so much higher than for IUI and since you're already halfway there... if the financial part isn't prohibitive, I'd do it!
good luck with your decision!
i converted this cycle and i find out whether or not it was worth it on friday. i know danse on this board converted recently and now she is preggo. it really does increase your chances of success.
good luck with your decision!
good luck susanc.. i did know about Danse, that is great.
I just heard back from my nurse. It isn't definite until my appointment on Thursday, but they needed to know so they know whether or not to switch up my dosages.
he he he.. that has been my motto lately about my work too! Just do it!

hi Mel!
I do feel like that too, and i have been asking for a "sign" the past couple of weeks, so i feel like this is it!
Hi!!!
I agree take it as a sign and run with it. That way you will never wonder what might have been. That, to me, is the hardest emotion to deal with. I'll be thinking about you. I really, really hope this is it for you!!
