This is what someone said to me last week, as she debated with a co-worker the sex of my child. Now I fully believe I'm carrying a boy as well (solely based on all of the old wives tales...haven't been sick, pregnancy has been smooth and easy, heartbeat is 140 or below) but the 'statistically' part of her comment kind of annoyed me. Like how the ef does she know?
Re: "Statistically impossible she's having a girl"
Um, your co-worker needs to take a remedial stat class.
i conceived either on the day before or the day of my bday.. so i tried 25 and 26 y/o.. wrong for me..
Did you ask her for a copy of the calculations proving the science behind her statistics?
That makes no sense.

Tell her this statistician is blowing raspberries at her.
She's right that the statistical odd could be altered with information that was actually correlated with sex - but none of those things are, so she is so, so wrong. I hate it when people throw "statistical" into random sentances to make themselves sound more reputable. PET PEEVE.
