I must be nuts

Let me just say that we have a lot of gtgs at our house. We have quite a few kids in the family and we usually rent a bounce house for the bigger parties.

I am considering buying this thing. I am trying to justify it by thinking that it will pay for itself in just 3 parties (which we'll have in the next 4 months). These things are $200 everytime, but usually everyone chips in. Also, it will be nice to have for our Florida summers since you can use it wet.

Am I nuts?

Before I am the subject of a PABST, I'm not bragging! I have a hard time spending money on anything.

Re: I must be nuts

  • 1. that looks RIDICULOUSLY fun

    2. what if it sprung a leak or a neighborhood cat decided to walk across it...how would you even find the leak?!

    3. oh. maybe it wouldn't stay inflated all the time, but wouldn't it take FOREVER to blow up?

    4. get it and tell us if it is as awesome as it looks!

  • Buy it! My aunt bought one and she has even rented it to friends for cheaper than it would cost for them to rent it. It has paid for itself many times over!
  • Hmmm. ?We have a bounce house (not that big) and the kids love it. ?My only concern is if a BUNCH of kids are using it A LOT, then it's going to get worn out pretty quickly. ?I would be worried about that (we've had one pop and tried to fix it and it soo didn't work).

We would clean it and put it away after every use. You use a generator and it blows up very quickly. Ugh! I think I am going to get it.

Springmom- Can't you just patch it? I guess it might not be that easy.

  • You're not nuts at all. We're thinking of buying this one: https://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=8000121

For the reasons you mentioned. If you added up the cost of renting one you'd spend thousands of dollars in the end.
