Testing out trigger question

This is my first time getting the trigger shot and I wanted to test it out...

I just gave myself the shot last night and the HPT this morning came up bfn. Is that normal?  Does it need more time to go through my system, or are you only supposed to test after O?

    i'm guessing it hasn't had time to work it's way out yet...remember it has to get absorbed into your bloodstream, metabolized, and then excreted in your urine...12 hrs isn't a lot of time for that to happen.  you can test right away but i think some people wait a few days... i think it would stay in your body a minimum of 5 days so you can start testing in a few days if you want to save some tests....
