It's funny, because if I had an 18 month old daughter, you think she might be in some of my wedding pictures...

(Actually, I think that wedding date is off and she got married in 2005, but same deal.)

I have to go back and read everything from after I left this morning, but I want to make clear that I am exposing this both out of concern for those wronged by it and for the person who did it.

If Lindsay is reading this, we want to help you deal with whatever you're dealing with. Clearly something is upsetting you to make you do something like this. Call your university's counseling center, please. It's ok to get help.You're not the only one who's ever done this, either.

And if by any chance you're ready to talk about this and give some explanations, you can private message me on here.

    I just saw your "outing" post about this...I never replied to any of her posts/links because it seemed a little weird to me that all she had to say was "go to my blog," but no one wants to be the one to accuse someone of lying about something so awful!  Remind me to give you a call if I ever need some detective work done. =)

    Actually, Cubby, what's very frightening is how easy it was to do this with a few google searches. I found everything from her mother's obituary to her entire family tree. She had the misfortune of having a relatively unique last name.

    I'm sure if she wants to find me now and knows how to use a computer, she will....

    Wow, how did you figure out her last name?  Was it in her blog?

    I can't give away everything, Elise. ;-)

    Let's just say I did this with nothing more than the computer in my house and google. Didn't even have to go into Lexis or anything fancy. It's all out there. she wasn't very careful.

    I thought maybe you could track ISPs or something. I've actually found the full name, address and phone number of a couple of people on here. It's way too easy if you aren't careful, especially if you have a unique name.

    Just curious -- I have a theory on who this is -- is she a longtime Nestie that you recognize?

    Yeah, I immediately thought Amy and about SassySally and her husband in the fake coma. There was someone else here awhile back that lied about having cancer too. And another woman who used to make up a different dramatic story every couple of weeks. There are probably a bunch of people who do this kind of thing and never get caught too. It's sad.

    I can't see any of her pics, but still.  It's so odd to me that she's been here since 2003.  I've been here since 2003.  I don't remember her at all.  I wonder if she posted or just lurked on the boards.

    Being I guess one of the moms who got 'scammed' by her, I thank you for the email about this, and letting everyone here know.  Honestly my first reaction was one of shock and then not shock.... i had found it odd that she ALWAYS put the full name of her blog like she wanted the attention so badly... but then i thought, if you are grieving and have no one, the internet is an amazing place to find support.

    I really just feel badly for her... i doubt there was true malice in it. Maybe loneliness, or a need for some care and concern.  It doesn't make what she did right but she never ASKED for anything other than sympathy and attention.
