  What kind of restaurant?  I usually say, dark jeans and heels are appropriate for any "casual" evening event, but if you are going to a fancy restaurant I would opt for a dress and heels. 

  And as for boots, it is still freezing here, so I would definately say that would be ok!

  I think it depends on the restaurant, but since you are the hostess I would probably stay away from jeans.  I don't know exactly where you live but I would say that boots are still okay in the midwest in March.

  I rarely wear skirts so if it were me I would probably wear my nice black pants with a dressy blouse or sweater.  But again, it would depend on the restaurant.

  It's a fancy restaurant, but everything is very casual these days in our town, so I do think I could wear jeans even though it's a nice place. ?But I may shop for a dress because when else do I get to wear a dress these days?
