Days and nights switched?

Pedi told me today that DS has his days and nights mixed up? He sleeps all day and only wants to eat three to four hours. And wakes up around five, nurses every one and a half hours and stays awake. I don't mind this because Dh is home at five, so he gets to enjoy DS with me while he is awake. But my point is that the doctor wants me to start fixing this, but i thought all new borns did this i mean he is only a wk and a half old. Give him a break. What about you and your lo

    Umm I would say thats normal. My pedi did recommend getting him outside the daylight to help him start to switch them around, and I dont know if that helped-or he just got older. Either way he started doing better around 4 weeks

    Yeah i thought it was the norm too. I also think its best for him to learn the difference but i'm not that worried about it at the moment. I will work on but i'm not pushing it yet.

    You are going to want to fix this soon. Baby J had this problem too.... and believe me, after a while it SUCKED!

    During the day - make sure he sleeps in a well lit room, keep tv or radio going, dont let him sleep more than 2 hours and feed often.

    At night - keep it dim and quiet. Eventually he will understand but you want to start getting him used to day/night soon.

    Ditto this. You would really be better off if you attempted to correct it sooner rather than later. Its not abnormal, but wouldn't you rather sleep at night then deal with cluster feeding?
