Burping

DS hasn't burped all day!  I've tried and I can hear the air move, but nothing comes up. Except BM a couple times, lots of it.  He's all fussy and grunting too like he needs to get air out.  Only way he's ok is if he's laying on his stomach across my legs/knees and I sway him back and forth.  How else can I help him?  Will gripe water help?  Yesterday was a great burp day, why would this happen?

Re: Burping

  • Sometimes the air just gets trapped in there! With my oldest this used to happen all the time. I would actually have to tip him backwards, kind of upside down, and then sit him up, then burp him. My MD suggested this, he said that it allows the diaphram to move around, which can get the air to a place were it can actually be burped out. Good Luck!

  • The other thing that may help is bicylcling his legs.  GL!  I'd bet it's the gas that is causing the fussiness!
