Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

I'm shiiting my pants....

I posted below about stopping my pill mid pack and no period.  I POAS during my lunch break.  It's positive.  I'm freaking out.  I haven't told DH b/c I can't do it over the phone.  This was a big "whoops".  I, of course, will accept and love any children that God gives me, but I wasn't ready.  We just bought a house, I'm freaking out about having two under two.  It's possible right? Lots of people do it right??

I don't think DH will be very thrilled about this. This is not how I pictured this going.

  • Take a breath and change your pants lol - You can do it - many girls on here have had 2 under 2 - I'm sure you can find lots of support. That's hard when you don't know the reaction of your DH but hopefully he'll be thrilled too when the shock wears off! Keep us posted. :) Oh, and congratulations!

  • Yikes! Congratulations! I hope DH surprises you with a positive reaction (after some time to let it sink in!)
  • Congratulations! When I saw your earlier post I was actually thinking that stopping mid-pack, some people get pregnant.  It is def. possible to have 2 happy, well adjusted kids under two! My mom did it.

For telling your DH, maybe you could make a list of things that are good surprises, like getting more back on your tax return than you expected, finding $1 in your pocket, things like that, and then end the list with "having a second baby" or something. Good luck!

  • Congratulations! ?You're in shock now, but I know a lot of people who ended up being so happy having kids so close in age. ?It'll sink in soon and you'll make it all work, try to enjoy it and remember everything happens for a reason! ?
  • My daughter was a surprise.  A huge surprise.  The ink wasn't even dry on the marriage license.  I wanted to finish my degree and lose some weight before getting pregnant.  He was in the middle of a career change and money was tight.  And we had wanted to move across the country to be closer to our families before we had kids.

Even unplanned, it all worked out in the end.  We worked through the obstacles and having her was the best thing we've ever done.

Give yourself a little time to get over the shock.  Everything will be okay.  You will do great and you will find inner resources that you didn't know you had.  Having your children close together will mean they will always have a playmate and you'll get the diapers over with all at once.

    Congratulations and good luck!!!

  • congrats. im sure after the shock wears off you will both be super excited. and remember its cheeper second time round since you already have almost everything you will need!
  • Congratulations!  I am sure that everything will be fine.  Remember, you have that mommy experience that you didn't have before! Smile

  • Welcome to the club. We planned ours but didn't think it would happen so quick. It took 6 months with DS and 1 month with #2. Yikes! It's really starting to kick in now. I guess you just make it work!
